I took a lot of the excellent reactions from this thread and tried to refine the new LCS overlay.

I'm guessing the new design was constrained by some corporate blowhard demanding that WE NeEd cLEaR LcS BraNDiNg. Okay, okay. Let's work under those constraints.

You know what's not LCS branding? Rounded edges. WTF is this, 2007? Let's sharpen things up. We'll keep the solid background colors, but we can take a cue from the LCS shield logo and wrap everything in a nice clean gold stroke. We can also square up the player photos.

To get rid of those awkwardly uneven margins around the minimap, all we need is to scale it up a bit. I accommodated this by clipping off some of the fountain at the corners. (Do we really care where on the fountain they're standing?)

But the biggest offender here, IMHO, is using a chunky sans font (looks like FF Din) for what should be easily readable stats. Yes, it matches the LCS logo, but it conflicts with half of the the text on screen, our standard in-game Friz Quadrata. Serif text is just easier to read, especially at small sizes (might be watching on a phone), so let's go back to Friz for the vital stats.

There'a good argument to be made that gold is more telling than kills. And since we just HAVE to have the LCS shield there in the center, let's go ahead and whole-ass the gold stats instead of half-assing ALL the stats. We'll bring back side colors instead of team colors so it's obvious these are opposing stats, matching the team health bars in game.

Instead of giving kills and turrets the same layout as gold, I tried stacking them in a column. For one, this lets us shrink the width of the entire top overlay. Second, it's actually easier to visually compare kills for kills, say, when there's contrasting arrangement in the stats. Yeah, they're smaller, but I think raising the kill counters higher makes them actually stand out more.

I actually like the flyout for dragon markers. Last year they were just sort of hanging off the overlay and got lost easy. The asymmetry this provides is also telling.

Finally, I tried swapping the baron and drake timers. I couldn't find footage of a baron timer last year (but I didn't look very hard; was there one?), and it bugged me that baron is in the top left and drakes in the lower right, but the timers were the other way. There's no problem with having the baron power play flyout on the left to match the timer position. For LTR readers, that makes it even more prominent, as it should be.

This is an interesting problem to solve! I can see they tried to make it as clean as possible, but when you have so many important stats, it's more about managing the clutter than trying to eliminate it. Let me know how you think I did!

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.

I did the same and this is the result I came out with https://imgur.com/a/aex7ftz

This is really good. What kind of royalties would we have to pay you to use it?
