[2020] Semi-Finals Athens: Worst League Live Event I have been to ... by far

So, I think Athens is great. We travelled from Germany, the weather is great, the people are nice and there is so much to see in the city.

But the event was really disappointing. It was not possible to get anything to eat in the stadium. Nothing, not even some popcorn. And it is an event going on over 5 hours. It would have been nice to know beforehand, then we would have brought something with us, but so we were hungry the whole evening. We went to Bruxelle, Hamburg, Berlin, Kopenhagen... but everywhere we could eat something while watching the event. Here there was nothing.

Additionally no toilett paper anywhere, no paper to dry your hands, no security. People were smoking in the arena. And some very special snowflake took 3 whole games to let himself get photographed in the arena with flash light 0n, while flash photographie was forbidden. So the flashing on the other side was really annoying, while trying to watch the games.

No hype at all. In Rotterdam we ware asked "What is your region?" Here we had nothing. I just hope tomorrow the finals will be better, because the games are hype, they were great today, but everything else was kind of disappointig.

Sorry for rambling, kind of disappointed.

So thanks everyone who took notice of this, liked this, and commentated. You all helped to get this to the attention of the right people. Today we had toilett paper, food inside and so much hype. Thanks for the gold and silver kind strangers and for the support. Thanks to Riot for making the best out of it and changing things up, so today the experience was so much better. Still not the same as at the other locations, but the games where hype and it was great being here. The smokes couldn't be helped, but everything else was fixed today. Thanks again to everyone helping!

Yeah i was also a bit confused there were no crowd warmups to get us hyped. We literally just watched the same thing you watch on twitch - a timer and showing an old fnc s04 game.

Hijacking top comment for visibility

Hey everyone, Riot Crower here, I’m the Head of Production for Riot Games in Europe. Firstly, thank you to everyone speaking up and giving this feedback. Making sure our audience have a good experience is our highest priority, and we know that we missed the mark on that yesterday. We’ve heard you, and we’re doing everything in our power to improve that experience for today.

Each venue and location we go to has its own complexities and restrictions, but we’ve worked with our local partners to bring about some changes for today.

Food: Unfortunately there is very limited concessions capacity at this venue. We had tried to compensate for this by deploying food trucks at the entrance, but it clearly wasn’t enough food and wasn’t communicated well. So today we’re working with our local partners to see how we can bring additional snacks and food onsite, and putting up more signage directing people to it.

Smoking / Security / Camera Flashes: We’ve reinforced with our security that smoking and flash photography is prohibited, and have displayed more signage for the audience. For those of you at the event, we encourage you to report any of this behavior to the nearest security guard or Riot employee.

Lack of toilet paper: Not much to say here. Absolutely not okay. Period. We will make sure there are enough sanitary items available today.

Audience hype: Rest assured, our resident favorite hype-man will be making an appearance today, and we’ve also adjusted our audience audio levels to better capture the atmosphere in the venue.

I’d just like to say thank you again to everyone who spoke up about these issues, and to everyone who came yesterday. From all of us working at the event, we offer our sincerest apologies to those who had a bad time. At the end of the day we all do what we do for you, the fans, and when somebody leaves our event unhappy we know we’ve failed. We hope that you all have a better experience today and enjoy the Finals with us!
