Phroxzon tweeted:
I'm excited to announce that I'm the new Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends! I've been on Summoner's Rift now the last 8 years and been leading it for the last 2. I'll be responsible for the overall design of Modes, Balance, Champions, Preseason and the careers of the Gameplay Designers.
I have large shoes to fill with the previous giants that have held the role; Axes, Scruffy and Meddler. I've learnt a lot from each of you and hope to take those lessons forward to keep building League gameplay forward.
Axes will be moving into League R&D where he'll be leading some projects. He's been an amazing manager and beacon of stability for League over the last few years (and will continue to be so). Replacing me as the Preseason Design Lead will be Solcrushed and Live Pod Design Lead (balance) will be David "Phreak" Turley. I will continue to be heavily involved in both these areas, working closely with Design leads to determine high level direction and ensure high quality design changes.
Let's continue making League the best it can be together!
For reference SolCrushed was the Lead Champion Designer for Wild Rift, but returned to League after Wild Rift dev moved to Shanghai. Before that he was a champ designer on League and made Irelia, Yorick, Poppy, and Galio's VGUs as well as Neeko.
