If you haven't seen it, give the Quick Gameplay Thoughts blogpost that is posted today a quick read.

This is the first time I feel like I've lost braincells reading a blogpost coming from a Rioter.

This isn't even about the game balance anymore, Riot Jag is trying so hard to make himself look smart in his blogpost but it exposes his lack of knowledge of the game.

"But that’s not what you’re here for; you’re here to ask “do you have any idea exactly how powerful this revive is?”

To which I’d answer—of course not.

And that’s the point."

The fact that Riot Jag decides to write a blogpost just to say "hey as the Lead Game Designer myself I'm gonna give the playerbase an unexpected answer that will show me how smart I am because they'll never see this coming uwu" shows how he lacks the maturity to lead the balance team, and his ego is being written everywhere in his post.

Need more?

"Of course, it has to go beyond that—the revive has to make sense in terms of gameplay. Players talk a lot about champions that are not just fun to play as, but also fun to play against. We summarized those in the two lists up top and expect a lot of followup conversation will focus there, but I also want to talk about designing Akshan as a champion who's fun to play with. "

Oh god I'm playing with words I bet the playerbase has never think about the term of "play with" holy f*ck I sound so smart right here!!!!

And then he shares his view of the game and how Akshan can be integrated into that:

"League is a cooperative game. Winning requires teamwork. When designing an exceptionally selfish character archetype (the overlap of Assassin AND Marksman), finding a way to let them contribute to the team that aligns with the exact way they want to play was an incredible challenge. It's really important that when you see Akshan deep in enemy territory looking to hunt down the enemy Scoundrel instead of grouping with everyone else, you know he's still part of the team, and you can root for him to succeed because you know he's there for the team. "

Has anyone out here ever think that "Oh my midlaner is diving into the enemy team 1v5 to kill the Scoundrel I'm rooting for his victory I hope he wins :D" in any point in time? The fact that Riot Jag is so ignorant of the state of the game and avoids addressing the issues of the champion because he want to makes the game "fresh" is a huge red flag that he needs to reevaluate how he wants to lead his balance team to bring us a better League of Legends.

Never once in my lifetime have I complained about Riot Scruffy despite all those absurd changes that he has made throughout the years. This gameplay blogpost pissed me off so much especially because Riot Jag likes to show his ego off publicly and blocks people on Twitter that criticizes him anything while Scruffy would just laugh it off, embrace the flame and go back to work.

TLDR; Riot Jag goes on a full display of his ego with the latest Quick Gameplay Thoughts and I am asking him to either learn from his mistakes and improve, or step down and let someone else to take the lead.
