Modern League has more mobility than ever before, and immobile champions suffer more than ever, especially in the state of the game's heavy burst.

Since their release, Stealth Ward Trinkets have never seen a balance adjustment to their cast range.

This disproportionately affects the immobile champions, like mid lane mages and immobile ADCs. It is far easier to go warding safely as a champion that has escapes, because you can get away if you get jumped on. But as an immobile champion, your windows of opportunity to go warding are significantly shorter, and more dangerous.

Example #1: The trinket range currently is 600, and a Rengar's jump range is 745. It's not exclusive to Rengar either, many champions have mobility that can easily close a 600 range gap.

Example #2: Before the mid lane changes, you could ward a side bush from over the wall to (mostly) safely get vision, even if it wasn't the best placement for a ward. Placing that same ward on the new map results in half the bush not being covered by the vision range of the ward, as the bush is now much longer.

It's also a huge issue for champions that may not have mobility, and are playing roles such as mid, that are forced to side-lane during the mid-game for macro purposes. This makes it significantly harder to pick immobile champions that DO need to side lane, because during the mid game you become an incredibly easy target.

Upsides: Give indirect power to mages and immobile ADCs by increasing safety during warding and allowing for more champions to be picked by giving them more safety during lane phase and mid game. Jungler pressure & roaming support pressure is slightly nerfed by allowing laners to have more safety during warding, and to have more opportunities to ward.

Downsides: Bush mains

are nerfed.

tl;dr Buff Stealth Ward Trinket cast range. Potentially also buff range of control wards, and even Support item wards if we're feeling frisky.

Interesting idea but has a decent amount of effects we’d have to account for, such as warding over certain walls into bushes from safety. For example, you would be able to trivially place wards across jungle areas during invades, or from one end of a bot lane bush to the other bush, avoiding melee supports trying to get an engage.

Not saying we wouldn’t investigate something like this, but it’s a version of increased safety and vision creation we would need to carefully consider is not more damage than gain.

Allow blue trinket from level 1.

There's no reason to not allow it unless you think people should be exposed to danger to place wards, and if that's true, then why is there a range on sightstone and yellow trinket anyway? Give both 150 range, melee amounts.

It's absurd in games where you know someone is in a bush, but can't even approach to fight them of it because of the power of a surprise hook.

Think a blitz or Leo camping a botlane bush.

If you don't have vision reveal or strong untargeted damage, you simply can't go within 800 units of the bush without risking an all in.

That's really it, insisting that low mobility champions be acceptable targets for getting jumped and preventing any way of playing well that negates it.

One of the issues with blue trinkets level 1 is that they would be used to find the jungler 95% of the time, which is not gameplay we would find to be positive for the game.
