There is a good amount of debate around Eternals currently. However, most people seem to agree that the stats tracked are pretty lackluster. Anything that is going to happen pretty routinely by playing a champion is viewed as not being particularly meaningful.

So here is my suggestion. Have eternals be something along the lines of a champion guide to mastery. For example (as a kindred main):

Base level eternals would be pretty routine stuff such as:

Run them down: Hit an opponent with 4 Qs in 10 seconds.

Abrupt End: Kill an opponent with E execute damage.

Life Eternal: Preserve an allies (self not included) life with Lamb's Respite.

Death's Domain: Kill an enemy while you are in Lamb's Respite and they are not.

These are basic things you should be doing to do well with kindred. Using your Q inside wolf's zone for reduced cooldown to chase effectively, using E at the appropriate point to get execute damage and saving your allies with your R. The eternals not only track your stats they also guide you towards what you should be doing.

Note there's nothing like, "health gained from W passive." or "Walls jumped". The first is pretty unavoidable to increment and so isn't really guiding in any way. The second is difficult to track I would imagine. Also note none of these particularly warp gameplay. If you can Q your opponent you probably want to. If you can execute with E you probably want to. If you can save your ally you probably want to. No one is going to be screwing over teammates by trying to get these.

The next tier of eternals would get into more advanced things you should be thinking about.

False Hope: Kill an opponent with E execute after Lamb's Respite expires.

Theft of Hope: Steal an objective after saving it from death with Lamb's Respite.

Death's Door: Preserve a life from a turret shot after getting a kill or assist.

These are geared towards showing you advanced techniques you should try to master to be good at the champion. Timing your E proc for when your R ends can be pretty crucial to winning duels. Stealing objectives while using your R to waste enemy smite is often game changing. Using your R to tower dive is a very powerful tool. These not only track impressive plays but also point you towards trying those impressive plays.

This system gives tracking for impressive plays for experienced players AND guidance to people looking to pick up the champion. Also it's a lot more interesting than "How many marks have you ever killed"

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

These are great suggestions! We are definitely open to exploring future releases of Eternals where the objectives are significantly more difficult. We are experimenting with a few of those in the launch release to see how they perform, despite some of the data indicating they will be way too hard to increment.
