Honest Thoughts on PoC Freljord?

Personally, I’m mixed on it. As someone who’s been playing the mode almost every day since launch, it’s nice to have a real challenge for even my Level 30, fully Epic Relic equipped Champs. Targon can still kill them in a bad run but aside from ASol himself, most of the bosses don’t provide much of a challenge anymore. But Freljord makes you EARN your victories. I beat the region with Volibear on 1 health, after getting Watchered, through tough decision making and god draws. Its had some of the toughest runs I’ve played in PoC, and I like that.

But I also feel as if the mode may be too unwilling to compromise. With a little luck, any Champ can beat ASol. I’m not sure I feel that way with Lissandra. I feel like a lot of Champs, short of un-GODLY amounts of luck and prayer, can’t actually win. Especially when the designers practically overtuned it against Jinx specifically. I get she’s the strongest 3-Star champ and they didn’t want to just make her an obvious cheese, but the +2/+2 Tough power and Lissandra’s ‘After every third card cards cost 3 more’ feel like they’re made with the sole purpose of completely shutting down Jinx, and other combo and cheap Champ decks.

I feel like the Freljord is tough, which is good, but I do wonder if the mode was made so difficult that certain champs just can’t win against it.
