| 5s | to discuss the importance of Legion Raids in Lost Ark. |
| 8s | A little backstory about myself... |
| 10s | I've been playing Lost Ark for some time now |
| 12s | and was excited at the opportunity to make this video, |
| 15s | because I have an important message I would like to share. |
| 18s | Now, for some of you younger Mokokos out there, |
| 20s | Legion Raids are the pinnacle of Lost Ark PvE content. |
| 23s | In my opinion, |
| 24s | it's the best content Lost Ark has to offer, |
| 26s | not just because of the loot or sheer epic-ness of some of the fights, |
| 30s | but because Legion Raids |
| 31s | are an opportunity for Lost Ark to truly shine as an MMO. |
| 35s | But more on that later. |
| 37s | A typical Legion Raid encounter is broken down into several gates, |
| 39s | which essentially act as checkpoints for you and your groupmates. |
| 42s | That way, if you do a PuG, or a pickup group, in the party finder |
| 45s | and end up having to call it early, |
| 46s | you'll be able to come back and pick up where you left off. |
| 49s | You'll also be able to choose from various difficulties, |
| 51s | including normal, hard |
| 53s | and, if you really want to test your skills, inferno. |
| 55s | On top of that, your group will be equipped |
| 57s | with useful Sidereal skills that will aid you during the encounter. |
| 60s | Some of them are used to cause massive amounts of damage |
| 62s | and weak-point destruction, |
| 63s | while others can provide lifesaving defensive benefits to your party. |
| 66s | Now, outside of completing these raids for the challenge, |
| 69s | you're also heavily rewarded for their completion. |
| 71s | Legion Raids reward a large amount of gold, high-quality accessories |
| 75s | and, perhaps most importantly, |
| 77s | relic materials that are used for crafting your Legion Raid gear sets. |
| 80s | These gear sets can drastically alter the way your class feels and plays, |
| 85s | allowing for a variety of unique builds. |
| 87s | And to be honest, |
| 88s | you really haven't played your class until you've acquired one of these sets, |
| 91s | as well as proper stats and engravings. |
| 93s | With that introduction out of the way, |
| 95s | I wanted to offer some important insight about Legion Raids |
| 97s | that goes beyond the more basic information |
| 100s | that you can simply find online, reading an article. |
| 103s | X3 or north-east-south-west, you've probably heard of this before |
| 106s | and, by now, may be sick and tired of arguing which method is best. |
| 110s | As mentioned in the Lost Ark Academy article |
| 112s | that featured my friends Saintone and Zeals, |
| 114s | the X3 method is simply a positioning rule |
| 117s | to help reduce friction amongst group mates |
| 119s | on where someone should stand for various mechanics. |
| 122s | If using X3, |
| 123s | you simply multiply your party number by three, |
| 126s | and that's where you stand |
| 127s | for any mechanic that takes place in that target area. |
| 129s | So if you're party one, you simply stand at three o'clock. |
| 132s | Oh, and players in party two simply add one to the end number |
| 135s | to take care of any of the other numbers that are missing, |
| 137s | and you can use the area prior to the fight |
| 140s | to assign clock positions. |
| 141s | Easy as that. |
| 142s | Now, I am pretty bummed that I have to mention this in the first place, |
| 145s | but you'd be surprised how many players forget to bring or use them, |
| 149s | and that's Battle Items. |
| 150s | Nearly every Legion Raid will require the use of some Battle Items. |
| 154s | Whirlwind Grenades, Destruction Bombs, |
| 156s | Sleep Grenades, Time Stop Potions, and more, |
| 158s | these items will be essential in clearing the most difficult encounters |
| 161s | as bosses will have various conditions that must be met, |
| 165s | or it's probably going to be a wipe. |
| 167s | So, keeping a few Battle Item kits in your pet storage is always a good idea. |
| 171s | All right, now getting into the good stuff: |
| 173s | not waiting around for support. |
| 175s | Look, I know what it's like out there when searching through the party finder. |
| 179s | Finding a couple supports can be tough, |
| 181s | unless you play a Bard or Paladin, |
| 183s | then you picked the right class and we love you. |
| 185s | I'm kidding, but you know what I mean. |
| 187s | However, depending on your groupmates, |
| 189s | you may be able to clear a lot of the content without a support. |
| 192s | In fact, I have cleared many Legion Raids with a single support. |
| 195s | Subbing in a Gunlancer can oftentimes be enough. |
| 198s | And with that, |
| 199s | going in with just one support and clearing the first couple of gates |
| 202s | is more than enough for your average player. |
| 205s | In fact, in some of the more difficult raids, |
| 207s | it's quite common to simply clear the first couple of gates |
| 209s | to help work towards your end-game gear set. |
| 211s | So just try to collect as many materials as you can. |
| 214s | You'll still be able to finish your set. |
| 216s | Now listen, I know what some of you may be thinking, |
| 219s | "Stoopzz, this sounds great and all, |
| 221s | but I have such a hard time finding a group." |
| 223s | My advice to all of you is to make your own group. |
| 227s | This, of all the tips mentioned in this video, |
| 229s | is by far the most important one to me, personally. |
| 232s | As mentioned earlier, |
| 234s | Legion Raids are an opportunity for Lost Ark |
| 236s | to really shine as an MMO. |
| 238s | And what do I mean by that? |
| 241s | Well, let me tell you a quick story about my good friend BardBard. |
| 244s | BardBard is, |
| 246s | well, a Bard that I met on another region of Lost Ark |
| 249s | just over a year ago |
| 251s | and how we met was actually through the party finder in Oreha's Well. |
| 255s | We were two complete strangers, two complete noobs, |
| 257s | and let's just say the experience wasn't |
| 259s | ideal. |
| 261s | The legend! |
| 265s | No! |
| 267s | We both did a little trolling, |
| 268s | and after several hours of wiping, we finally cleared the content. |
| 273s | But from that experience, we became really good friends. |
| 276s | Fast forward nearly a year later, |
| 278s | BardBard and I have continued to raid together |
| 281s | and have cleared nearly all of the content Lost Ark has to offer. |
| 284s | And although our initial meeting wasn't the "best experience," |
| 288s | it was through that experience, the struggle, that I realized |
| 291s | the type of raiding experience I was looking for. |
| 293s | We didn't have the most optimal raid composition. |
| 296s | We didn't follow the meta. |
| 298s | But we cleared all the content and, most importantly, |
| 300s | we cleared all the content as friends. |
| 303s | Making your own group is an opportunity |
| 305s | to set the expectation of what you want out of a group. |
| 308s | It's an opportunity to build relationships, |
| 311s | and that is what an MMO is all about. |
| 313s | So focus less on composition, less on creating the most optimal group, |
| 317s | and focus more on the people you are playing with. |
| 320s | This is what has kept me with Lost Ark over other games I have played. |
| 324s | The friendships I made along the way are infinitely more valuable |
| 328s | than any weapon or quality upgrade. |
| 330s | And if you don't think groups like that exist out there, |
| 333s | they do. |
| 334s | You just have to make one. |
| 335s | So don't be shy. Get in there and create your own group. |
