| 10s | if you just recently hit level 50 and |

| 13s | rocks pile up in your inventory this |
| 15s | video is going to help you understand |
| 17s | the importance of them as well as some |
| 19s | other things you should keep in mind |
| 21s | if you already know all this stuff be |
| 22s | sure to share it with someone who |
| 24s | doesn't but without further ado let's |
| 26s | get started |
| 31s | first let's go over a basic breakdown |
| 33s | and talk about what engravings are |
| 35s | engravings are special effects that can |
| 36s | be applied to your character that |
| 38s | improve the effectiveness of certain |
| 40s | abilities or characteristics such as |
| 42s | increasing the damage of attacks other |
| 44s | than back and frontal attacks with the |
| 46s | hitmaster effect or reducing your |
| 48s | awakening skills cooldown with the |
| 49s | awakening effect |
| 51s | each effect has three levels with the |
| 52s | effect becoming more powerful at each |
| 54s | level to view all of the engravings and |
| 57s | their effects access the engraving |
| 59s | effect window by pressing alt and i or |
| 61s | you can click roster on the bottom right |
| 63s | then engraving effect while here you can |
| 66s | hover over each engraving to check out |
| 67s | its benefits at each level and get a |
| 69s | feel for which direction you want to |
| 71s | start grinding towards |
| 72s | now if you want to view any effects that |
| 74s | are currently applied to your character |
| 76s | press p or click character on the bottom |
| 78s | right then character profile here you |
| 81s | can also see the three levels with |
| 82s | diamonds underneath these diamonds are |
| 84s | called nodes and your goal is to fill or |
| 87s | unlock each node to increase your level |
| 89s | for that effect |
| 91s | in order to do this you'll need to equip |
| 93s | accessories and ability stones or |
| 95s | acquire and read engraving recipe books |
| 97s | which are things we'll go over later in |
| 99s | this video but not only is engraving a |
| 101s | mechanic that will drastically improve |
| 103s | your character's abilities taking |
| 105s | advantage of learning the ins and outs |
| 107s | early on will only help as you take on |
| 109s | even more challenging content at in-game |
| 113s | speaking of learning early on let's move |
| 114s | on to the next topic and talk about |
| 116s | engravings and ability stones |
| 119s | ability stones are a resource you begin |
| 121s | to acquire well before you reach level |
| 123s | 50. and if you've been collecting these |
| 125s | little purple rocks and wondering what |
| 127s | use there is for them this tip is for |
| 129s | you ability stones are very important |
| 132s | and they provide a bonus to your |
| 134s | vitality as well as effects from |
| 136s | engravings |
| 137s | once acquired you may notice it can be |
| 139s | equipped this is because ability stones |
| 142s | must be faceted a process where an |
| 144s | ability stone cutter polishes the stone |
| 146s | to activate the effects allowing you to |
| 149s | equip it |
| 150s | to begin fastening find the ability |
| 152s | stone cutter in any major city their |
| 154s | icon on your map will be a blue gem once |
| 156s | in the menu clicking any stone in your |
| 158s | inventory on the left side would allow |
| 160s | you to begin fastening on the right |
| 162s | on the right you'll see the two positive |
| 164s | engravings and one negative engraving |
| 167s | you might notice there are also unfilled |
| 169s | nodes under each effect along with a |
| 171s | pickaxe and a fee of silver next to that |
| 174s | clicking the pickaxe on any effect will |
| 176s | cause you to spin some silver to attempt |
| 178s | to fill a node resulting in increased |
| 181s | effectiveness of the ability |
| 183s | keep in mind each attempt has a success |
| 185s | rate and a chance of cracking that will |
| 187s | increase or decrease at every try this |
| 190s | is going to make the process random also |
| 192s | fastening won't be completed until all |
| 195s | attempts including the cracks are |
| 196s | carried out so be sure to check those |
| 198s | rates that way you can try to aim for |
| 200s | the maximum amount of nodes to be filled |
| 203s | for the positive effects and hopefully |
| 205s | none for the negative |
| 207s | once complete the results screen will |
| 209s | show you the number of successful facets |
| 211s | as well as what additional effects apply |
| 214s | while only one stone can be equipped at |
| 216s | a time don't be afraid to begin |
| 218s | fastening and switching them out early |
| 220s | on as they can potentially provide the |
| 221s | most amount of points towards your |
| 223s | engravings allowing you to activate them |
| 226s | at the highest levels |
| 228s | moving on let's talk about engravings |
| 230s | and accessories because while you're |
| 232s | getting used to fastening you may |
| 234s | realize that most of the time you're not |
| 235s | going to activate as many nodes with |
| 237s | just one ability stone |
| 239s | this is when making use of the |
| 240s | accessories come into play as you defeat |
| 243s | mobs and bosses through your dailies |
| 245s | complete quests and other content in |
| 247s | lost ark you'll acquire accessories such |
| 249s | as necklaces earrings and rings that'll |
| 252s | come with random engraving effects hover |
| 255s | over these accessories to view the |
| 257s | effects and how many nodes will be |
| 258s | filled if you decide to equip it but |
| 261s | keep in mind that combining that ability |
| 263s | stone with accessories that also have |
| 265s | that same engraving effect is what |
| 267s | maximizes how many nodes are filled |
| 269s | resulting in those increased levels and |
| 272s | this is what will make checking out the |
| 274s | accessories you acquire important as |
| 276s | opposed to focusing only on the basic |
| 278s | effects you receive |
| 280s | so next time you're out there looting be |
| 281s | sure to keep an eye out on what effects |
| 283s | you can gain |
| 285s | number two custom engravings |
| 288s | along with finding random engravings |
| 290s | attached to ability stones and |
| 291s | accessories custom engravings will allow |
| 293s | you to manually apply two specific |
| 296s | engravings to your character during the |
| 298s | first topic we went over how you can |
| 300s | view all of the engravings in the |
| 301s | engraving effect menu while here you may |
| 304s | have noticed two tabs the combat bonus |
| 306s | and the class bonus tab |
| 308s | the combat tab shows you engravings that |
| 310s | can be equipped with any class and |
| 312s | viewing the class tab will show effects |
| 315s | specific to the class you're playing |
| 316s | with |
| 317s | underneath each engraving you'll see a |
| 319s | number out of 20. this number relates to |
| 321s | how many engraving recipe books you'll |
| 323s | need to find and read to unlock the |
| 326s | effects these books can be acquired |
| 328s | throughout your daily sessions and come |
| 330s | in different rarity tiers uncommon rare |
| 333s | epic and legendary |
| 334s | keep in mind that each tier you'll need |
| 337s | to read 20 recipe books to advance to |
| 339s | the next tier and you must follow them |
| 341s | in order so you'll need to start by |
| 343s | reading 20 uncommon books then 20 rare |
| 346s | 20 epic 20 legendary and although it may |
| 349s | sound like a grind you're going to |
| 351s | acquire these by completing content such |
| 353s | as side quests dungeons towers even just |
| 356s | exploring islands also |
| 359s | the great thing about custom engravings |
| 361s | is that once they're unlocked it's |
| 363s | unlocked for all of your characters on |
| 365s | that server |
| 367s | now that you know the important tips |
| 368s | about engraving let's move on to the |
| 370s | last tip and talk about starting early |
| 372s | early on you'll begin collecting ability |
| 374s | stones accessories and engraving recipe |
| 377s | books and although you'll focus on these |
| 379s | more once you hit level 50 and begin |
| 381s | progressing through tiers one two and |
| 382s | three it's a good idea to get used to |
| 384s | them at the earlier levels so you're |
| 386s | prepared once you get there be sure to |
| 388s | check out all of the engravings that can |
| 390s | be applied maybe even begin collecting |
| 392s | and saving engraving recipe books until |
| 394s | you decide how you want to progress |
| 396s | this will save you a ton of time once |
| 398s | you hit level 50 because you won't have |
| 400s | to go back and play through various |
| 402s | content to acquire any of those |
| 403s | resources |
| 404s | one huge thing to keep in mind is that |
| 406s | recipe books accessories and ability |
| 408s | stones can be placed into your personal |
| 411s | or roster storage that way you can |
| 413s | transfer these to your alternate |
| 414s | characters or you can save them for |
| 416s | yourself for later this means you can |
| 418s | always come back |
| 420s | also along with re-watching this video |

| 424s | the bottom right then training area this |
| 426s | will transport you to an area where you |
| 428s | can walk through a step-by-step guide on |
| 430s | engraving faceting and even ability |

| 439s | as you want until you feel comfortable |
