4s | Hello, heroes of Arkesia. |
---|---|
6s | Welcome to another episode of Patch Notes with Henry. |
9s | We're kicking off the new year 2024 with the January update. |
13s | But I hope since the last one, everyone's had a great end of the year, happy holidays and a fun start to the new year, had some good time off with family and friends. |
23s | It was a good end of 2023 for me. |
26s | I dropped a sidereal energy on New Year's Eve, so I'm hoping that 2024 is just as fortuitous. |
33s | Um, with that, we have a ton of changes coming in this update, primarily balance and QoL. |
41s | The full patch notes are actually well over 18,000 words, almost 19,000. |
46s | So there's a ton to cover. |
48s | Today we're going to talk about some of the highlights, big pieces of content. |
52s | We'll do a quick rundown of the balance changes and a few highlights from the QoL that's coming in. |
58s | But as always, if you want the nitty gritty, feel free to read through the full patch notes article for every single little detail. |
65s | So one of the highlights of this update is going to be the Brelshaza Legion Raid Inferno Difficulty. |
72s | As most players know, Inferno Mode is the most difficult version of Legion Raids. |
77s | It's all about proving you're the best of the best in Arkesia and earning the accompanying prestige. |
82s | Rather than the normal rewards of gear, materials, and everything else you'd get in a Legion Raid that you clear week over week, Inferno rewards instead, like, showcase your victory with the titles, achievements, stronghold structures, and more. |
99s | This time around, the Inferno difficulty is going to require item level 1560. |
105s | And as a piece of equalized content, you're going to need to build out a set up in the Book of Coordination before going into the raid. |
113s | One thing to know is, unlike other Inferno Legion raids that include every gate, Inferno Brelshaza is actually focused on the final two gates of the original raid. |
123s | For players that played that before Gate 5, the original Gate 5 was removed, those are the two gates where you face Brelshaza. |
132s | So the Legion raid will be focused on those two. |
135s | We'll have a ton of new mechanics and new challenges for players to encounter, and also have a throwback to Gate 5, which is no longer in the current version of Brelshaza. |
144s | So another fun spotlight that's coming is going to be Lailai Island. |
148s | It's a new adventure island that's been added to the sea south of Punika. |
153s | It can be entered through Procyon's Compass on a schedule just like other adventure islands. |
159s | And there's going to be a new Island Soul, Mokoko Seed, achievement, and title, along with some fun activities for players to check out. |
167s | Cool. |
167s | Let's talk about the events in this update. |
170s | So one important one is Illios Island, the special New Year's event that we did, at the same time as Korea. |
177s | I had a lot of fun with that. |
178s | I was actually in there right at midnight in my region, watching the fireworks. |
182s | Had a blast with all the players in there. |
184s | But that event is going to be drawing to a close with the January update, as it was special for the new year. |
190s | We have new log-in and Hot Time events that have been added, and it's also important to know that Daily Playtime Reward event will continue until the February update. |
200s | So another month of those rewards for playing every day. |
204s | The Freya Island event is going to continue for another month with a new activity. |
210s | A new ice castle will replace the maze garden, which was the current activity in that event. |
217s | You'll be able to transform into a Mokoko and entering the castle, and there's going to be icy floor tiles that will start to break once they're stepped on in a fun new mini game. |
228s | There's some other elements of the mini game, such as breaking snowflakes by using special skills, but it's a fun one and not like something that we've had before. |
236s | Similar to the previous event, though, you can enter every even hour like 2 p.m., 4 p.m., etc. |
245s | and once per roster per day. |
247s | And you can also earn the tokens from clearing Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids if you're not interested in playing the new event. |
255s | And as always, the tokens can be spent at the event shop. |
258s | Has a variety of valuable items. |
260s | A bunch of honing mats, battle items, all the quality of life stuff that you'll want in there. |
267s | And along with some special items. |
270s | And Freya Island will be available until the February update. |
276s | So don't forget to spend your leftover tokens on silver before we launch the February update next month. |
283s | So this month, we have a few different cosmetic collections arriving in the store. |
289s | You can get cozy and stay warm in the Arkesian winter and winter themed Neria's Wardrobe. |
295s | Start the year with new New Year's skins. |
299s | Or look your basketball transformed with special transformation skins. |
303s | We have videos for all of those new cosmetics to show them off. |
306s | So we'll go through those collections one at a time. |
309s | First off, let's check out the Winter Neria's Wardrobe. |
343s | So next up this is kind of a new unique type of skin. |
346s | The transformation skins. |
348s | These are for the three transformation classes, Artillerist, Machinist, and Shadowhunter. |
354s | Uh, so they're new cosmetic options for when you're transformed. |
358s | Uh, I'm personally excited for the machinist one. |
360s | Uh, as I have a machinist. |
362s | But let's check out what the three of those look like. |
395s | And the final batch is going to be the New Year cosmetics. |
399s | There's New Year's skins, a wallpaper, a cute rabbit pet, and we're also going to be bringing some older New Year weapons from 2020 in Korea to the store as evergreen products. |
413s | So they'll be purchasable for a long time. |
415s | Unfortunately, since they're older skins are not available for some of the newer classes, but the skins should cover all of the types of classes that we have. |
424s | Let's take a look at all of those now. |
456s | So there's a ton of general QoL changes arriving in the update. |
461s | It would take a really long time to cover all of it or read through it line by line. |
466s | So I'm going to cover some of the top ones we know players are looking forward to. |
470s | We expanded the max amount of a bunch of currencies and changed the max stack of a bunch of honing materials. |
478s | So there won't be as many stacks in your inventory anymore unless you're loaded and have over a million stones. |
485s | And kudos to you if you've reached that amount. |
488s | On top of that, we added a ton of stronghold updates, including new attractions, new themes, new Pet Ranch skins, achievements. |
498s | And so if you're a big fan of customizing your stronghold, make sure to check out the full list. |
504s | And probably the biggest QoL change we know players have been looking forward to, I'm super excited myself for it as well, is going to be the Roster wide battle item storage. |
514s | All of your battle items in your inventory are going to be moved and transferred to a new storage tab and the only exceptions for that are going to be battle items that are for guide purposes and ones that are exclusive to certain regions like raids, Primal Island, quests. |
532s | The cubes in Voldis, for example. |
535s | And. |
536s | Yeah. |
537s | So once again, over 18,000 words. |
541s | If you want the full nitty gritty details of all of the changes to items, menus, settings, all sorts of stuff, make sure to go check out the full patch notes. |
551s | The links should be in the YouTube description. |
554s | So let's dive into what I know a ton of players are excited for, which are going to be the balance changes. |
559s | We'll dive into a few general ones and then get into the some class specifics. |
563s | So yeah. |
564s | Generally we reduced the base movement skill cooldowns for Destroyer, Paladin, Soulfist, Summoner, Arcanist, Bard, Artillerist, Sharpshooter, Machinist, and Shadowhunter. |
578s | There are also some skill effects, skill tree effect, and other QoL for a ton of classes. |
584s | Now time for rapid fire balance changes. |
587s | These include multiple balance changes in Korea combined into one patch for us. |
592s | So there's some pretty extensive updates, but what we're going to do here is just cover the basics. |
598s | If you hear your class listed, make sure to check out the written patch notes for the specific numbers. |
603s | There's also, for some of the classes, that I mentioned having like a rework, there's going to be some skills that were fully removed and new skills added, so make sure to, uh, check those out. |
615s | But yeah, let's go through it rapid fire. |
617s | Berserker was buffed. |
618s | Gunlancer was buffed. |
621s | Destroyer was buffed. |
623s | Paladin had an Awakening skill rework. |
626s | Slayer was slightly buffed. |
628s | Wardancer received a massive overhaul which should be considered a buff. |
633s | Scrapper also received a massive overhaul, which should be considered a buff. |
637s | Glaiver received a small nerf and redistribution of where damage comes from, mostly focused on the pinnacle engraving playstyle. |
645s | Striker received a massive overhaul which should be considered a buff. |
649s | Artillerist buffed. |
651s | Machinist sync skills were buffed. |
653s | Sharpshooter's loyal companion engraving was buffed. |
657s | Gunslinger was buffed. |
658s | Deadeye received a utility buff. |
661s | Summoner was buffed. |
663s | Arcanist was buffed. |
664s | Sorceress was buffed. |
666s | Deathblade received a massive overhaul which should be considered a buff. |
670s | Shadowhunter was buffed. |
672s | Reaper received a massive overhaul which should also be considered a buff. |
676s | Souleater received a spec scaling nerf, but a utility and QoL buff. |
680s | Artist was buffed. |
683s | And Aeromancer was buffed. |
685s | Like I mentioned earlier, some of these classes had skills removed and new ones added, so players with level two or higher skill trees for those deleted skills will have compensation sent to their universal storage. |
698s | The compensation will correspond to the skill tree level in the form of an amulet. |
703s | Let's wrap it up with one notable bug fix, which I know PvP players care about a ton. |
709s | We fixed the issue causing the PvP weekly rewards to not be sent beginning with the December update. |
716s | Weekly rewards that have not been sent will be distributed via Universal Storage after the update. |
722s | That wraps up the January patch notes with Henry. |
725s | As always, thanks for joining me. |
726s | We really appreciate it. |
728s | And if you want us to keep doing this kind of content, make sure to like and subscribe. |
732s | It just really helps us, you know, see whether you enjoy this, if it's something we should keep supporting. |
738s | So, yeah, really appreciate it. |
740s | And I want to leave you all with a community question this time around. |
744s | With all of these balance changes, QOL changes coming in, what's the one update that you are most excited for? |
751s | Out of all of those 18,000 plus words? |
754s | Let us know in the comments. |
756s | Thanks again. |
757s | See you later. |
759s | See you in Arkesia. |
