| 23s | mechanics that will make your journey a |
| 25s | lot easier to navigate |
| 27s | now i know we can't get to all the |
| 29s | features in the top five so be sure to |

| 33s | should be on this list but with that |
| 35s | being said let's jump in |
| 39s | number five equip your awakening ability |
| 43s | once you reach in game you may notice a |
| 45s | new skill at the bottom of your combat |
| 47s | skills menu |
| 48s | this skill is your class's awakening |
| 50s | ability |
| 51s | in order to unlock this skill you'll |
| 53s | need to carry out the necessary guide |
| 55s | quests which will be in your quest |
| 56s | journal under the guide tab |
| 58s | carrying out the first mission will |
| 60s | unlock your awakening ability granting |
| 62s | you the opportunity to use this powerful |
| 64s | skill during battle |
| 66s | each class has two different skills and |
| 68s | you're able to equip one at a time in |
| 69s | your v ability slot |
| 71s | to unlock both of these you'll need to |
| 73s | complete each of the necessary guide |
| 75s | quests |
| 76s | think of the awakening skill as your |
| 78s | class's ultimate ability but keep in |
| 80s | mind that the skill can only be |
| 82s | activated with the use of chaos shards |
| 85s | chaos shards can be obtained by |
| 87s | purchasing them from a general goods npc |
| 89s | in any major city |
| 91s | this skill is well worth completing the |
| 93s | side quests to unlock and will help |
| 95s | tremendously during the challenging |
| 97s | content you'll begin to face it in-game |

| 108s | next up at number four we're going to |
| 109s | talk about learning and using your |
| 111s | ingredients |
| 112s | engravings are one of the most important |
| 114s | mechanics in lost ark and they are |
| 116s | special effects that can be applied to |
| 118s | accessories and ability stones |
| 121s | using engravings can improve unique |
| 123s | abilities for your character like crisis |
| 125s | evasion which enables you to become |
| 126s | invincible for 3 seconds or contender an |
| 130s | ability that increases your attack power |
| 131s | for 15 seconds |
| 134s | engravings can be found randomly on the |
| 136s | armor you obtain when looting and when |
| 138s | worn will increase your effect in each |
| 140s | category |
| 141s | custom engravings can be applied to your |
| 143s | character's rings and require you to |
| 145s | find and read recipe books in order to |
| 147s | apply them these recipe books are found |
| 149s | when completing in-game content such as |
| 152s | raids or dungeons |
| 154s | to completely learn a recipe you will |
| 156s | need to collect and read 20 books to |
| 158s | gain access to applying that particular |
| 161s | engraving |
| 162s | one great thing about custom engravings |
| 164s | is that once unlocked they apply to all |
| 166s | of your characters on your roster |
| 171s | number three fasting |
| 174s | fastening is a mechanic that goes hand |
| 176s | in hand with engravings and is the |
| 178s | process of cutting an ability stone to |
| 180s | activate its engravings |
| 183s | ability stones are a resource that can |
| 185s | be equipped to your character and will |
| 186s | supplement your weapons and armor and |
| 189s | they can be applied to your character |
| 190s | after the fastening process and will |
| 193s | increase your max hp as well as apply |
| 195s | two random engraving effects and one |
| 197s | negative effect |

| 201s | ability stone cutter in any major city |
| 204s | for fastening before you can equip it |
| 207s | once the process begins a window will |
| 209s | appear showing the stone's engravings |
| 211s | and a hammer icon |
| 213s | all you need to do is click the hammer |
| 215s | and spin some silver and eventually |
| 217s | you'll cut the engraving onto the stone |

| 254s | engraving recipes |
| 256s | cards even gold and materials you use to |
| 259s | craft high level gear |
| 260s | there are also restrictions that apply |
| 263s | which limit changing gear or skills |
| 266s | using certain battle items even using |

| 269s | because you'll only be able to enter a |
| 271s | specified number of times each week and |
| 273s | you have to compete with a full party be |
| 276s | sure to prepare accordingly before you |
| 278s | jump in and also if you'll be using the |
| 280s | matchmaking feature to find a party or |
| 282s | if you even already have your own keep |
| 284s | in mind how key communication is |
| 287s | so whether it's voice or text chat you |
