9s | It's the Lost Ark Academy Debate Club with your host, straight out of the rocks box, it's Roxx! |
22s | Welcome to the Lost Ark Academy Debate Club. |
25s | This is where our contestants debate to prove they have what it takes not to be a Mokoko. |
30s | I'm Roxx and I'm here to prevent another PheonGate. |
34s | I want my Pheons back. |
38s | Let's get things started and bring out our first contestant. |
41s | Here is DatModz. |
41s | Oh, very nice. |
46s | Very nice. |
46s | Next up, we have Grenton. |
54s | Lots of finger guns today. |
56s | Next up, we have Stoopzz. |
61s | I don't know what to do with my hands. |
63s | And last but not least, Bobajenny. |
69s | All right, All right. |
70s | Let's get to it with our 2v2 warm up debate. |
73s | This will be DatModz and Granton versus Stoopzz and Bobajenny. |
77s | For today's topic, which character has the coolest weapon glow? |
81s | I'll give you all a minute to strategize. |
85s | All right, so what are we picking? |
87s | What do you think has a lot of good options? |
89s | I think Destroyer's pretty good. |
91s | ...has three classes. |
91s | The Gunlancer's got a f$@#%ing planet on your back. |
95s | So we have four creators here as a part of our Debate Club. |
98s | And I bet you're wondering how in the world they ended up here. |
101s | So am I. |
102s | Luckily, we have someone who can help answer that question today. |
108s | Hey, guys. |
109s | I'm Tom. |
110s | I'm the Creator Growth Manager for Amazon Games. |
112s | Creator Growth Manager. |
113s | What are you... |
114s | what are you growing? |
116s | Well, we're growing Creators. |
118s | We, you know, we plant him in the ground, like in a Mokoko seed, and then they *boop.* We have this thing called the Amazon Games Creator Program, which is a program that anybody who wants to create content for our games can join. |
128s | And we provide you scalable means of support that, you know, may include Twitch Drops, it may include image assets, opportunity to come to live events, and so on and so forth. |
139s | Cool. |
139s | Can you explain kind of what a Twitch Drop is and how someone can use that? |
144s | Sure. |
144s | Do you like free stuff? |
146s | I love free stuff. |
147s | Are you kidding me? |
148s | So if you if you're a viewer on Twitch, you can watch your favorite Content Creator who has Twitch Drops enabled and you can collect, you know, free stuff for in-game or, you know, maybe in the future in real life stuff. |
160s | But you get free stuff from the Content rCeators. |
162s | And as a Content Creator, you are giving these things to your your community. |
166s | So, you know, it encourages them to hang out and you know, you give them a benefit. |
171s | I like getting free stuff. |
172s | I like giving free stuff. |
173s | If that's also free, that's really awesome. |
176s | Are there any other means of support? |
178s | You said it was scalable that you offer these Creators? |
181s | Yeah. |
181s | So scalability is like anything that we can give to anybody who has a desire to create for our games. |
189s | And this can be like Twitch Streamers, YouTubers, cosplayers, wiki writers, you-name-it. |
195s | If you're creating something around our games, we want to find a way that we can support you guys. |
199s | If you guys want to join the Creator program. |
201s | Go to the PlayLostArk website, click the Creator program link, sign up there. |
205s | It's very easy. |
206s | A few clicks, it's gonna ask you a few questions, and you're done. |
208s | Awesome. |
209s | Well, thanks for coming and hanging out with us, Tom. |
211s | I think you can go back from wherever it was you came from. |
216s | See you later. |
218s | All right. |
219s | Now that both teams have had a minute to strategize. |
222s | Ah, go for it. |
224s | Gunlancer. |
225s | Destroyer. |
226s | No. |
227s | 100% percentage it's Destroyer. |
227s | Have you seen just like a plus 20 or something? |
230s | That stuff is very, very vibrant. |
232s | You have a Gunlancer, it sits on your back. |
233s | It's like a planet on top of the Gigachad, okay? You have the little orbs and everything - no one plays... |
238s | The funniest thing about you mentioning my Gunlancer - you make fun of it all the time. |
240s | Not your glow. |
242s | Not your glow. |
243s | Oh, no, no.You made fun of my entire ensemble. |
248s | It's got a nice glow. |
250s | Everybody likes Gunlancer glow plus you have plus 25. |
253s | It's massive. |
254s | The glow is not as nice as Destroyer. |
256s | You have that unique touch from when you're smashing so hard, it has a orbs - the rocks orbiting around it. |
262s | It looks like a little jetpack on your back. |
265s | And then it's two weapons. |
265s | You have double glow. |
266s | It splits into two weapons. |
268s | Yeah, that's cool. |
269s | Sometimes you have one glow, you get two. |
272s | Sometimes it's quality over quantity. |
274s | But it's got quality and quantity. |
276s | But not as much as our boy Destroyer. |
277s | I think it's Gunlancer. |
279s | For sure the comments will say Gunlancer. |
282s | Definitely going to say that. |
284s | There's way more Gunlancers out there. |
286s | It's Destroyer. |
287s | No, people will probably pick Gunlancer for their glow. |
289s | Oh my God. |
293s | Roxx, which one do you like more? |
293s | Tie break us.Be honest. |
297s | No. |
297s | Yes, be honest. |
299s | Stare. |
300s | Are you guys warmed up? |
302s | All warmed up? |
304s | All right. |
304s | We'll get back to it after this commercial break. |
306s | And we will kick off the 1v1 debate. |
343s | Wassup guys just, chillin here in my million dollar garage, got this sweet new Mokoko board surrounded by a bunch of hot babes. |
349s | Yeah, my life's pretty sweet. |
350s | I used to not have all of this stuff, but, you know, ever since I started fishing, my life has changed forever. |
355s | So I'm going to give you guys that same opportunity. |
358s | This is your chance to change your life forever in game. |
363s | What I like about fishing is that your class doesn't matter, your engravings don't matter, and you're not spending all of your time in the Party Finder. |
370s | You're able to play on your own time and become a millionaire in-game. |
375s | Seems like a pretty easy decision to me. |
377s | So I guess that just leaves one question:. |
379s | How much is the fish? |
384s | I'll see you at the top. |
390s | Welcome back to the Lost Ark Academy Debate Club. |
393s | This is time for our one versus one debate. |
395s | Today, we have Stoopzz and Bobajenny, remember, one of you will have one minute to make your initial argument. |
401s | The other will have one minute to make your initial argument, and then you will each get a minute for a rebuttal. |
406s | Don't talk during the argument. |
408s | There's so much chatter. |
410s | Shut up. |
410s | Let them argue and then we'll talk about you after. |
414s | Cool. |
414s | With that, your topic for today is: four-player content versus eight-player content. |
421s | Bobajenny, you will take on four-player content. |
424s | Stoopzz, eight-player content. |
425s | I will give you all a minute to think about your arguments. |
429s | You both turned to me so dramatically, it was like in sync. |
433s | That was rad. |
434s | All eyes on you. |
435s | Yeah, I think Stoopzz is pretty happy about eight man, because seven more people to carry him. |
444s | It's not much of a basis for building an argument though. |
448s | Yeah. |
448s | It could be. |
449s | They seem pretty ready. |
449s | Why are you guys watching us? |
451s | You're supposed to, you know, figure out what you're gonna say. |
452s | They're strategizing. |
454s | That's a lot of confidence. |
455s | Eight man, you can make more mistakes, and a lot of times you could bypass mechanics. |
459s | Four man, there's a lot more individual responsibility, but there's less to worry about so it can definitely go both ways pretty easily. |
465s | What do you prefer? |
468s | We're not going to debate. |
469s | I was just... |
471s | What do I prefer? |
472s | Grenton wants to agree. |
474s | Whatever I'm raiding with my friends. |
476s | It's the experience. |
477s | It's the experience. |
478s | I don't have that many friends because I play Reaper so I like four-player content. |
481s | I just find temporary friends in Party Finder. |
483s | Sometimes they call you trash, sometimes they kick you out. |
485s | But it's still fun. |
486s | They're friends until they do that. |
487s | You're probably the only person who has ever said "the people I find in Party Finder are my friends." Good on you. |
493s | Good on you. |
494s | All right. |
495s | It looks like you are more ready than we are. |
497s | So, debaters, are you ready to start? |
500s | As ready as I'll be. |
501s | Okay, with that vote of confidence vote, Bobajenny, the floor is yours. |
506s | Your one minute starts now. |
508s | Okay, so four versus eight, I think it's really easy to see which one's better. |
513s | Obviously, the four because eight you got to wait on seven other people, you got to figure out all of their normie schedules. |
520s | And on top of that, for both parties, you need to think about the synergies. |
524s | And you know, if you do end up needing pugs or if you're plugging yourself, you go into Party Finder, you're waiting, waiting, someone leaves and then another person leaves and you got to wait a little longer. |
536s | And then there's a Bard who has a friend. |
538s | So it's like a never ending cycle of trying to get your best parties together. |
543s | Whereas, four men, you see three more people - that's it - looking for one support is so much easier than looking for two. |
551s | Yeah. |
553s | Oh, I have more time? |
553s | You do have more time. |
556s | Thank you. |
557s | I mean, I think on top of that, for me, actually, because I try to put parties together... |
562s | Okay, now you have none. |
563s | Okay, I'm done. |
566s | All right. |
567s | Stoopzz, your one minute debate starts now. |
569s | Valtan, eight man raid. |
571s | Vykas, eight man raid. |
574s | Clown, four man raid. |
575s | That marked the fissure of friendship. |
579s | Most people go into raids, they have a little party together where they play with their friends, and then you got to split that group up into four man groups. |
586s | Going from Clown, to Brelshaza, I got to reunite with my friends. |
590s | Dat Modz, we're going into Kayangel now, four man content. |
595s | Someone's going to have to get left out. |
596s | Someone gets the reject group in the static. |
598s | I'm not sure I have the heart to tell DatMoz he will won't be in my group. |
604s | Four man raids are great because it is a little bit easier to schedule. |
607s | However, there's a lot more individual responsibility and with that is a lot of pressure: raid anxiety. |
612s | And that causes a lot of people to not want to enter in the content. |
616s | Clown was the start of that. |
617s | And so four man content is easier to schedule, easier to get people together, but it's hard to find the people that want to commit to that group because it's a lot of individual pressure. |
624s | And one bozo can wipe the entire raid when DatModz dies in Brel, we can just keep pulling. |
629s | Alright, that was your argument. |
630s | Bobajenny, you have one minute for your rebuttal. |
634s | I mean, you're saying that it's hard to split, but it's like eight divideed by two is just four. |
638s | You just have to say, this week, I'll run with you, next week along with someone else to even it out. |
643s | Plus, if you're really good friends, I don't think you would mind. |
647s | And one man, you said one bozo - sorry, one bozo. |
652s | It takes one bozo to wipe the raid. |
653s | That happens in Brel as well. |
655s | And from my experience, asking my community which way they like the most, it's like a 75 to 80% chance that they will say Kakul-Saydon. |
665s | So I feel like... |
666s | I feel like I understand you want to run with all of your friends and all of your juicers, but I think if it's a four man raid, people will probably take it more seriously and take raids more seriously and progress better. |
682s | All right, you have a couple more seconds, but I feel like you're feeling pretty confident. |
686s | Yeah, I'm pretty confident. |
687s | Pretty confident. |
688s | All right, Stoopzz, she's so confident. |
690s | We'll start you off early. |
691s | Your one minute starts now. |
693s | You're right. |
694s | I do like playing with all of my friends. |
696s | That's why when you messaged me on Discord to do Clown with me, it was so hard to tell you no, because you couldn't get into my group because it was only four people total. |
704s | Raids are about having fun with your friends. |
706s | And on top of that, Lost Ark already has a lot of gatekeeping. |
710s | With gatekeeping, you want to relieve as much pressure on your group as possible. |
714s | So I think for me, four man content definitely has its place, but I really personally do believe that that size is a little too small and a lot of the mechanics become frustrating because you need to progress. |
724s | If you look at Clown, people say Clowns they're favorite raid. |
727s | That's because most people nowadays they skip gate three or - Mario three and four. |
730s | They just blast the boss and skip it. |
733s | But on launch it sucked. |
734s | If one person died, you start all over again, right? |
737s | The entire fight has to be start over. |
739s | And so they have to put a lot of mechanics in there to basically artificially increase the difficulty. |
743s | So again, I like four man content. |
745s | It's great. |
746s | But if I had to choose between eight man and four man, I don't want to tell you no, and I don't want to tell DatModz no, I want to play with all my friends. |
755s | All right. |
756s | That is your time. |
758s | Thumbs up. |
759s | Notice how he didn't invite the Reaper? |
759s | Yeah. |
760s | I'm going to bring the spectators over here to discuss... |
763s | that... |
764s | whatever that might was. |
765s | That heartfelt sentiment. |
765s | And we'll pick a winner. |
769s | Jazz hands. |
771s | Let's talk about that debate. |
773s | What are you both thinking after that? |
776s | They made good points on each subject. |
779s | Four play raids, easier to put together friends, less friends needed, quicker assembly of groups, less waiting in Group Finder. |
785s | But there's also more personal responsibility to be as how punishing four players are when you're originally progging it. |
791s | Eight player raids, more fun, more friends and then what do you do at the transition out of your eight player raids, when they rotate to the four player you have to separate your group and then, you know, usually one group takes the stronger players and the other group gets the weaker players, and one's stgruggling and one's not struggling. |
807s | Shut up! |
807s | You've already hurt him enough. |
810s | Yeah, you already hurt me. |
811s | No - don't touch him. |
813s | Get out of here. |
813s | Match and learn. |
814s | You got kicked out of the Kayangel group right here. |
816s | It's just going to hurt more next time you tell him no. |
818s | Anyway, what are... |
819s | what are you thinking? |
820s | I kind of agree with DatModz and what both of them said, actually. |
823s | It's easier to form four player parties. |
825s | You don't have to wait on two supports. |
827s | You get in quickly. |
829s | And because of the only four player that we have right now being Clown and we're getting Kayangel soon, I mean clown, you just blast through the mechanics so you're... |
837s | you're able to just get in, get out really quick. |
839s | And like DatModz said, usually your eight player static, when you break it up into two, one group gets the juicers, the other group gets Stoopzz. |
847s | What the hell, man. |
850s | You have said enough today. |
852s | I don't want to hear it. |
853s | You didn't invite the Reaper to your party. |
855s | I'm coming for the jugular. |
857s | But no, I think they both made really good points. |
859s | I, I know what... |
861s | who I think should win. |
862s | Tell me. |
863s | Tell me. |
866s | I heard that and I agree. |
867s | Shocking. |
868s | Thank you for your insight. |
869s | We'll send you back over. |
870s | And I think we have come to a consensus to declare our winner. |
874s | Are you guys ready? |
876s | It seems pretty ready. |
878s | My hand. |
879s | Well, Bobajenny. |
883s | Bobajenny. |
899s | Bobajenny is not the Mokoko. |
901s | This show is so rigged. |
907s | Don't be a sore loser. |
909s | I should have won that. |
910s | I'm sorry for making fun of you. |
913s | Making fun of DatModz is not a valid argument. |
915s | All right. |
916s | Thank you for joining us on this episode of the Lost Ark Academy Debate Club. |
920s | Remember, it's okay to lose Stoopzz because none of this matters. |
923s | What does matter is the live series finale where the community will vote on who is and who is not a Mokoko. |
928s | So we'll see you then. |
929s | But first, we'll see you next week for our next episode. |
933s | Jazz hands. |
959s | Hey, guys. |
959s | If you're still watching, be sure to smash that like button and hit subscribe. |
