I have a question: Once Aftermath is out, will you be able to get Aftermath cards using Golden Packs? And will they be prioritised in the way that the main Standard sets are? (I haven't seen an announcement about this.)

My preference would definitely be that Aftermath cards get prioritised in Golden Packs. I think this would be better for most players and for WotC.

Seeing as there will only be a short offering of Aftermath draft, this means that purchasing packs will be the main way of acquiring Aftermath cards. I normally collect all the rares of full-size Standard sets but don't do this for Alchemy sets (even though I play Alchemy almost as much as Standard), because drafting is my main way of collecting cards. It might be a bit different for some players because of Aftermath being Standard-legal, but it would be in WotC's interest for players such as myself to treat Aftermath more like a full-size Standard set than like an Alchemy mini-set. Having Golden Packs prioritise Aftermath cards would incentivise this, helping make Aftermath a success.

Thoughts?

When March of the Machine Aftermath (MAT) releases, the 2 "newest set rare" slots in Golden Packs will pull from a group of cards containing both MOM and MAT. This pool is duplicate-protected like normal, so if you already have a lot of MOM rares, it will be prioritizing rares from MAT.

I've been wondering, do these packs "populate" so to speak, when you open them? Or are their contents determined when they are acquired?

Basically- can you hang onto a Golden Pack to try to open it during a specific desirable golden-pack-collation period. Sorry if too metagame-y.

They are populated as you open. If you earned a Golden Pack back in BRO and opened it today, it would give you MOM cards.
