If you've been playing standard enough, you've maybe come across this frustrating issue. Be it you have any removal you'd like to cast on Sheoldred before her ability triggers as a result of your draw step. Players have seemingly caught on to this, and I have literally been in situations where the opponent will rope their turn, then very quickly play Sheoldred combined with instantly passing turn while I have a 'Destroy Evil' in hand.

The obvious solution would be to just put a stop on upkeep as soon as your opponent has the possibility of playing / putting Sheoldred into play... But it just seems like they should implement something more straightforward.

Thoughts?

Huh, looks like we missed it in the release notes, but we did add this stop in today's update: "If the opponent controls a permanent that triggers whenever you draw a card AND that permanent entered the battlefield since your last turn, you get priority during your upkeep with an empty stack if you have any legal AND affordable actions."

Note that this will only put the stop automatically on the turn Sheoldred is played. After that it's up to you to put a stop on your upkeep if you want one.

yeah j just had this happen and no stop was set. could you double check this actually works?

I had QA investigate this (just for your cakeday), but they found everything working as we would expect. Do you have more details around the precise situation?
