We all remember how annoying it was (is? I don't know if it ever got fixed) trying to kill a recently dropped LW only for the game to skip straight to the combat step, and make the token it created almost as inevitable as Thanos, unless you played in full control 100% of the time, or had spider sense and activated full control before they cast the Warboss. That is not the point of the post, though.

With the rise of Simic Flash as a meta deck, I think this problem with priority is relevant again. As an example, I was playing RDW (sue me, but it's cheap and well performing) and attacked with a Ghitu while holding a Shock. The plan was, if they don't play a blocker, they eat the attack. If they do play a Brineborn Cutthroat/Merfolk Trickster, I shock it and they still take damage. They played a Brineborn, the game jumped to blockers, and the attack was blocked, saving 2 damage. The same happens if they flash something in at end step, you can't kill it before they untap and get mana for a counter. Maybe in full control, but I think no one wants to have to click resolve after every single spell, ability, trigger, and between each phase and step. In this case, it wasn't that decisive, but it's still something that I think should be fixed.

Disclaimer: I know there are many "bug" posts that are just the OP not understanding the rulings, so I went to the rules to check.

116.3b The active player receives priority after a spell or ability (other than a mana ability) resolves.

That leads me to believe that I indeed should get priority after their flashed creature resolves, unless I'm missing something or another rule overrides it. If the only solution is to activate full control whenever you see a Simic land, then so be it, but I think that makes the game worse for both players.

Edit: u/PhoenixReborn (and his matching flair) provided this link, so it seems like the issue will be solved soon.

The patch with the priority update for off-phase permanents is coming tomorrow. One warning: if you want to perform multiple actions in response to something during a phase where MtG: Arena doesn't want to stop, you should either place a manual stop or enter full control before performing the first action. Currently we only pump the breaks once, although I think we'll be changing it to give you priority for the rest of the step in a future patch. #wotc_staff
