October 12, 2020 Banned and Restricted Announcement

Standard Bans

• Omnath, Locus of Creation is banned.
• Lucky Clover is banned.
• Escape to the Wilds is banned.

The ban applies to both Traditional (best-of-three) and Arena (best-of-one) Standard constructed formats and events. This includes Play, Standard Ranked, Traditional Standard Play, Traditional Standard Ranked, Standard Event, and Traditional Standard Event. Players who are currently participating in a Traditional Standard and/or Standard Event using a deck that includes one of the banned cards will be able to complete the current event with their deck, however the deck will be considered illegal after their current event run ends.This ban does not include Direct Challenge matches except for Tournament Mode. As a general reminder, Brawl maintains a separate ban list from other Standard formats.

Historic Bans and Suspensions

• Omnath, Locus of Creation is suspended.
• Teferi, Time Raveler is banned.
• Wilderness Reclamation is banned.
• Burning-Tree Emissary is unsuspended.

Brawl Bans

• Omnath, Locus of Creation is banned.

Developer's Note: Omnath, Locus of Creation will remain playable in Historic Brawl, but will be weighted alongside the other more competitive Commanders (e.g. Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God, Niv-Mizzet Reborn, etc.)

Player Collections

Standard

• Players who had had these cards in their Collection prior to this announcement will receive an equal number of Wildcards of the appropriate rarity.
• Omnath, Locus of Creation and Escape to the Wilds have been removed from Standard individual card rewards (ICRs).
• Players may still receive Lucky Clover as an ICR. Players will earn vault progress of any copies beyond a playset.

Historic

• Players who have Teferi, Time Raveler and/or Wilderness Reclamation in their Collection prior this announcement will receive an equal number of Wildcards of the appropriate rarity for copies of the card they have not previously received a Wildcard for; player will only receive Wildcards for copies of these cards added to their collection after the August 24, 2020 Standard ban implementation.

New Player Decks

Note: These changes only apply to players who have not received these decks prior to today's announcement. All other players may use cards from their collection or redeem Wildcards from today's grant if they wish to continue playing these decks in Standard constructed formats.

• Escape to the Wilds has been removed from the Stomp, Stomp new player deck. It has been replaced with Radha, Heart of Keld.
• Both copies of Lucky Clover has been removed from the To Adventure! new player deck. Players will receive one Edgewall Innkeeper and one Wandermare instead.

Wildcard Redemption

• Players may still redeem Wildcards for these cards for use in constructed formats where the card is still legal.

Pack Collation

• Players will not receive Omnath, Locus of Creation and Escape to the Wilds from boosters (store, event rewards, mastery system) unless they have completed playsets of all other rare/mythic rares in their respect sets.
• Players may still receive Lucky Clover in boosters. Players will earn vault progress of any copies beyond a playset.
• Limited boosters (draft, sealed) are unchanged; players may still see Omnath, Locus of Creation, Escape to the Wilds, and Lucky Clover from Limited boosters (draft and sealed events) at their normal distribution rates.

Store

• The Elemental Showcase Bundle has been removed from the store.
