Greetings Commanders,

Sharpen your knuckles and get ready to rumble with one of the greatest hand-to-hand fighters to walk Nexus Earth. And after shaking hands with a human weapon, we have the R.I.P.-roaring details for Deathpool's upcoming Event Campaign, Blitzes for those who operate in the shadows, a repeating Legend heading back your way, and your monthly mission for more Promotion Credits. Now, get ready because the newest Hero for Hire character has just punched the clock...

Shang-Chi

The son of an immortal crime lord, Shang-Chi was raised to become a deadly assassin for his father's criminal empire. In a hidden ancient fortress, he was trained in a multitude of martial arts and philosophical disciplines. However, when Shang-Chi learned of his father's evil intentions and true nature, he defected after his first assignment. Now devoting his life to peace and good, Shang-Chi allied himself with world's mightiest warriors and eventually joined the Heroes for Hire. Shang-Chi is one of, if not the greatest, hand-to-hand fighter on Earth. He's an expert in numerous martial arts and his chi control allows him to strike with superhuman strength, as well as withstand devastating impacts that would otherwise kill a normal person.

Shang-Chi joins the Heroes for Hire team as a Brawler who brings High Health, Damage, and Speed to battles. His Speed leads to frequent attacks and those attacks punish enemy teams fortified with positive effects. Shang-Chi also has special targeting against low health enemies on War Defense, further increasing his potency. We recommend pairing Shang-Chi with his Heroes for Hire allies as he makes Iron Fist's Ultimate Ability, "The Iron Fist," undodgeable, in addition to activating Luke Cage's new Taunt mechanic: Gaining Taunt when a Heroes for Hire ally drops below 60%. And if you're already looking for revenge against the likes of Infinity Watch in Alliance War, adding Shang-Chi to your Heroes for Hire team will help you sprint to the front of the War arms race.

Punch a hole through the enemy plan with Shang-Chi:

Shadow of Deathpool & Post Mortem

The time to recruit Deathpool is nearly upon us! Rapping on your door with a slightly used scythe blade on August 20th at 5PM (PDT) is the Shadow of Deathpool Event Campaign. Running parallel with the Event Campaign and ending shortly before the Campaign's conclusion will be the Post Mortem Milestone. Here are the details on this limited-time event:

Shadow of Deathpool Event Campaign

In this exciting adventure, Deathpool has come to Nexus Earth to chase a crazed Thanos who's eliminating every interdimensional version of her father. Join this teenage reaper as she attempts to protect the Nexus Earth Deadpool while he tries to bond with his sort-of-not daughter.

For this death-defying adventure, you'll need a top team with the limited-time Devoted trait for the Hard Campaign difficulty. Just like Sharon Carter's Event Campaign, the Medium Difficulty has reduced trait restrictions to make it more widely accessible.

Post Mortem Milestone

Score points toward a daily milestone by participating in the Shadow of Deathpool Campaign and by battling (bonus points for using Deathpool) in Arena and Raids. Dig up rewards, including origin gear, Catalyst Parts, Orange Elite Orb Fragments, and T2 Iso-8 Credits.

Gear Crafting Bug

Arriving with next week's Version 5.6 Release is a fix for a bug that affects gear crafting. Specifically, it is costing more Gold to craft gear piece-by-piece than crafting the full gear part all at once - this was not the original intention. To compensate the Community for this, we're upgrading the Update Gold Calendar to a 2-week login calendar that rewards a total of 10 million in Gold, which will start on August 20 local time.

Ultron Red Stars

You might want to start planning on bringing Ultron into the shop because the next round of Red Star firmware is nearly ready. Coming soon to the first slot in the Elite Store will be 4-Red Star and 5-Red Star Promotions for Ultron. Accompanying this change is an update to Dark Promotion Credits; the maximum number of Dark Promotion Credits you'll be able to keep in your inventory will be increased from 2,000 to 3,000. Open Basic Red Star Orbs and take advantage of our upcoming offers to earn more Dark Promotion Credits and ramp up Ultron's Power.

S.T.R.I.K.E. Pass

The current season of S.T.R.I.K.E. Pass is coming to a close on August 17th, but if you're still flying high on earning Captain America (Sam) character shards there's no need to get your feathers in a tussle. The Secret Avenger Protector is soaring back for the next season of S.T.R.I.K.E. Pass, so don't miss your chance to continue earning tons of Captain America (Sam) shards and other big rewards just by completing your Daily Objectives.

Store Updates

Keep your eyes on the Store next week, as big updates are appearing following the conclusion of maintenance mode for the upcoming Version 5.6 Release. Of note first, we'll be permanently removing the original Milestone Orb and Ability Orb as the final step of our transition to the Milestone II Orb and new T1, T2, and T3 Ability Orbs. Make sure you open any of these remaining orbs now, as they'll be gone for good following their removal.

Over in the Costumes Store, Thor's "Siege" Costume will be available for purchase with Costume Credits. Thor's threads will also be available following the 5.6 Release, so get ready to dress down opponents with the newly dressed up Thor.

Then on August 20, at 5:00PM (PDT) two big names will be available for purchase with Power Cores for a limited time. Silver Surfer will be back with an appearance rate of 20%, as well as Shang-Chi, who will have a 100% appearance rate.

Returning Legendary Events

Bust out your happy dance (or make one up?) and get ready to welcome back Star-Lord. The Guardian's Legendary leader with the sick dance moves is moonwalking back your way on August 16, at 5:00PM (PDT) for the "Space Ace" Repeating Legendary Event. You'll need your Guardians and/or Ravagers at a minimum of 5-Stars to recruit Star-Lord, so keep your eyes on your inbox for 3 shards for up to 7 of the required characters to help prepare for the event.

Upcoming Blitzes

Protect your Helicarrier and travelers of the night with our upcoming Blitzes. Being deployed first on August 16th, at 5:00PM (PDT) is Agent Coulson in the Project Tahiti Blitz. Ignite enemies (without looking at the explosions) in battle to earn shards for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Alliance War agent of chaos. Then on August 19th, at 5:00PM (PDT), Moon Knight arrives in the Second Chance Blitz. Carry out Khonshu's will by pulverizing foes in the name of tons of Moon Knight shards.

Bonus & Flash Events

Prep for Star-Lord's return on August 15th, at 5:00PM (PDT) with the upcoming Going Knowhere Bonus Event where you can earn 2x character shards for Guardians and Ravagers in Campaign nodes. Filter your roster by Guardian or Ravager to see all the eligible characters and their Campaign node locations.

And then on August 19th, at 5:00PM (PDT) put your Wakandan team on high alert, as the Chaos Theory Flash Event is back for its monthly run. Deploy your Wakandan team into battle and restock your supply of Gold and Silver Promotion Credits. Filter your roster by Wakandan for the eligible characters and their nodes.

Until next time…

Good luck, Commanders!
