So they announce today we will be seeing around an upper end of 8.1M more gold per month. That sounds great-until you break it down. That means a daily income of 250-300k, which in itself isn't bad...right now. It's about a 20-25% increase over what we normally get anyway, which is okay but not going to really make a massive impact. But the real catch comes in the second part they describe.
" There will be a second rollout not too far behind the first one, which will include the rest of the amount to get to 8.1M Gold per month. There isn’t a date set for this second rollout yet as it will happen around the same time as the increase to Player Level and Gear Tier. "

The problem here is that upping the level cap will likely add at least 30% if not more to the cost of getting a character maxed. So getting a 25% boost in gold, while gold cost requirements to stay competitive go up by 40%+ (looking at previous level increases-1-70 is 3.3M, 70-75 costs an extra 2M, 75-80 costs another 2.12M, so 80-85 is most likely going to be closer to 2.3M which is just shy of a 30% increase, plus all the extra gold for combining and equipping gear. Not to mention if they eventually add new T4 ability levels which will drastically increase costs). So we face the issue that they are giving us more, but then increasing costs more than they give us. it's like if the government printed a bunch of money to give everyone an extra $10k per year, but the inflation caused by it increases costs by $15k per year so everyone loses out.
