How about, maybe an official post as to what happened and what’s being done? Not just a random reply buried in the middle of one random post? It doesn’t take that long to, you know, communicate.....

No, you made a REPLY in a random post buried in the middle, of 10000 other unanswered questions, rants, pots etc. We shouldn't have to go searching your comment history to get information. Here I'll write the post for you.
Earlier today, an ingame mail was sent out with an error in it that allowed players to claim more rewards than intended. Servers have been taken down while we asses and fix the issue. We don't have any timeline at this point for how long servers might be offline or any timetable on compensation or adjustments.
Not so hard to do to help MANAGE the community.
