David has been playing since global launch, has spent money on msf, has been in the gaming industry for decades, has been CEO of multiple gaming companies, knows his way around the industry, and has connections that has credible information.

Being in maintenance mode means that Boundless has reduced employees working on msf to only the essential workers to keep the game running. This is why it is plagued with bugs and keeps getting worse.

In 2020 Marvel Strike Force brought in $300 million in revenue, but as David points out Boundless doesn't care. They are thinking yes $300 million/year is ok, but we want a $1 billion/year game so that is where their efforts now lie. With other games and projects.

Wanted to wait until the 2022 Preview was published to respond to this. Both Scourge Events and Cosmic Crucible required building new tech that didn't previously exist, which would not happen in a game that is in maintenance mode. Furthermore, MSF is a Top 50 Grossing game in the Google Play Store - apps that are that successful don't get put into maintenance mode. I appreciate his perspective but it's not accurate.
