Caves & Cliffs Creative Collection

Inspired artwork from you!

It’s time for another fan art roundup! Kicking off our collection today, Sweetrose236 remarked on Twitter following the flurry of announcements during Minecraft Live, “I take it as canon that Steve likes cute things more than Alex.” We haven’t gotten confirmation about that particular fact, but Sweetrose236’s picture captures our feelings about the upcoming axolotl succinctly with Steve’s delight and Alex’s intrigued expression.

While some members of the community became instantly inspired by the mobs mentioned during the Caves & Cliffs update, others pulled back to look at the bigger picture, like littletigerart_, who decided to put her axolotl inside a lush cave.

Can you spot the sneaky new creature in this original lush cave art by  littletigerart_?

Naturally, the axolotl isn’t the only mob we’ll be encountering in the future as we explore the mysteries of these upgraded biomes. We also got our first glimpse at the Warden, a brand new hostile mob lurking within the caves, and it was inspiring! (And scary. But mostly inspiring.)

AwesomeSnowmanArt made this Warden out of clay as part of an ongoing series of clay Minecraft mobs.

no1callmejm typically contributes isometric builds done in Blender to the community, but made an exception to post a 3D rendition of the axolotl.

With dark blue and deep black strokes, Dunman’s Warden leaps right off the page and into our nightmares.

ItsJustVanilla proclaimed the axolotl their “new favorite mob”, providing the community with this bright rendition soon after the announcement.

We’ve seen a wide range of art inspired by the Caves & Cliff update announcement. Have you created a rendition of our new upcoming mobs you would like to share? Are you building new things to test out the copper block inside one of the latest snapshots? We would be delighted to share your creations with the rest of the community. Send them to FeatureMe@minecraft.net, or just post them on social media or Discord with the tag #FeatureMeMinecraft. Keep your fingers crossed, and they might get featured! We can’t wait to see what you’ve created.
