[2020] Variable and Sniper Scope Magnification Bugged?

I'm fairly certain the Sniper Scope does not magnify at 8x on Assault Rifles as advertised. Or, the 5.6x magnification on the Variable Zoom Scope is off.

The 5.6x magnification Variable setting appears much higher than the supposed 8x magnification Sniper Scope
