[2019] Haven't been able to connect to online since launch

Bought the game digitally on Xbox on Thursday night and haven't been able to play VS at all. Whenever I try and start the game from the in-game menu I get a Connection Error after it tries to connect to Xbox Live. Other games work just fine online (Gears, PUBG etc). I spent hours yesterday reading the Xbox Support forums and messing with port forwarding and that kind of stuff and nothing worked. I opened the 8 or so necessary ports (the Xbox ports and the other one specific to COD: MW), reset MAC addresses, enabled and disabled UPnP, assigned a static IP to my Xbox, did multiple resets of the console and router/modem.

Nothing has worked. Spoke with MS Support earlier and they said it was on the developer's end. Maybe, but I'm not totally convinced. I see other people playing on Xbox and having the crashing issue. I can't even get to that point, as I can't even get the multiplayer lobby. I'm actually on hold with Xbox Support waiting for a Connection Specialist (it's almost 10pm here, so I'm not sure someone is even going to pick up lol).

I have an Open NAT type too. One way I could get it to work was using my phone as a hotspot but that was it. Is anyone else having this issue? Not sure what else to do. I spent several hours reading and working on this yesterday, several more today too. I posted on the Activision forums as well and messaged their support twitter account but haven't heard back.

Edit: Welp, I stuck it out and waited an entire hour on hold to talk to a Connection Specialist with Xbox. I told him everything I'd tried and said if I'd done all of that there wasn't much else to try. He did point out the service limitation notice on the Xbox site and said maybe wait until that has been resolved. So I'll give it to the end of the week and if it's not fixed I'll likely just request the refund. I'd rather not do the refund as I enjoy these games a great deal, but not sure what else I can do at this point. Will definitely try red boxing it on ps4 tomorrow and see if it works there. I'll also go ahead and delete then reinstall the game overnight tonight.
