Ever since the most recent update no matter what setting I choose for audio it always sounds like I'm playing in a bucket? It's hard to work out where sounds are coming from like footsteps and gunshots etc.

Has anyone else got this problem or know how to fix it?

Hi everyone! We've had our eyes on this thread (and others like it) and were hoping you could give us some additional information so we can take a deeper look:

  1. Does this still happen after you do a full reboot of the console? (hard press on the front button and disconnecting power cables?)
  2. What is your exact hardware setup? Are you using headphones through HDMI? Optical? Any additional information is appreciated.
  3. What are the audio settings on your Xbox? (Settings, General, Volume and Audio Output)

Hi, this was fixed for me by following the instructions from one of the comments in this thread.

I can't tell you now whether it's the game or the Xbox settings as I have no idea what my Xbox audio settings were before

If it helps I had filled reset the Xbox I'm using UR Beats plugged directly into my standard Xbox one controller

Thank you so much for the reply. Do you know which comment helped you fix this?

My audio output was on something "sonic" when I checked and changed it to what was suggested and the game sounds fine now.

Awesome, thank you again for the info and I'm glad it's working for you. :)
