I have wanted to say this for some time now. The Basket Hilt skin just looks off. As someone who owns a legit historical replica of one (see picture below), I feel that while the hilt itself looks fantastic, the blade leaves much to be desired.

First it is extremely stubby. The basket hilt is quite a bit longer than what we see on the arming sword skin. This begs the question, why give the skin to the arming sword? Why not give it to the rapier, or one of the other single handed swords? This would give the skin the longer blade it actually has.

The other issue is that the sword skin in game is a double edged blade. A traditional basket hilt is single edged, with about 2 inches or so at the tip that is sharpened (called a false edge). Given that you can only wield a basket hilt broadsword one way, you don't have a lot of maneuverability where you could cut with the spine of the blade anyway. You CAN do false edge cuts, but more than that is pushing it based on body mechanics anyway. The back of the sword should be a solid spine, not a second edge, with the tip having about 2 inches of a false edge.

The way the sword looks now is just silly. Which is a shame, because as someone who actually has this sword, I was super excited to finally be able to buy it in game. But between the sword being too stubby, double instead of single edged, and arguably too wide for it's short stature depicted in game, the sword looks silly and ridiculous.

If any dev or community rep sees this, please consider re-doing the basket hilt skin. It is a wonderful addition and the hilt looks absolutely beautiful. But I can't spend my gold on this with as laughable as it looks with the blade it currently has.

reason being is gameplay and readability

the falchion is a slow choppy weapon, visually with a wide, asymmetrical blade. wouldn't visually make sense

arming sword is cut and thrust, symmetrical blade. visually works, works gameplay wise as well.

other weapons have their proportions changed for gameplay as well, like the rapier (which irl has a longsword length blade)
