Since he has contacted us with exactly how to do the cheat we won't be game banning him as far as I know, but he is indefinitely banned from the Mordhau Competitive Group, the community comp hub which virtually all tournaments are run through.

EDIT: since we know how it's done, we will be patching this in the future.

how are you not permaing this guy? banned from competitive only? only repented once he got caught.... this guy straight up exploited the game and did it in higher level of play (competetive) get this guy out. forever.

We're still looking at the situation, a game ban isn't off the table as of now.

he should be banned from the game.

We're still looking into it, this might happen but we don't want to knee-jerk ban someone before getting the full story.

He only contacted you after he got caught, though. Do you think that sets a good example? Let people cheat for as long as they want, then let them keep playing as long as they tell you what they did after they're caught?

And the "indefinite" ban could be of any length, so he's literally only getting an unofficial punishment for cheating, one that may not even be all that harsh. This is a very strange way for an actual dev studio to handle cheaters.

This is true - which is why we haven't ruled out a game ban as of now, we're just getting all the facts first before we make a decision.

" Since he has contacted us with exactly how to do the cheat we won't be game banning afaik " omg wtf is this retarded communication... you sold >1 millions copies, it's time to stop acting like amateurs. we all know that rick is friend with some of the devs and that's the only reason why he is not game banned. It's stupid as f**k to not game ban him, for your image. "comp ban" means nothing. no, all tournaments are not run through this unofficial discord, anyone can organize a tournament, invite all comp players including rick, and you could do nothing about it. at the end of the day, you actually took 0 decision concerning a now well known cheater, and you're stupid enough to claim it in your post. edit : when is marox coming back from his yacht party to teach everyone how to act in an actual video game company ?

If anything he masy get a harsher punishment than if we didn't know him, as he's been cheating in Mordhau for a while apparently. Like i've said in other replies, we want to get all the facts before we make a decision.

I'm curious if the same consideration was shown to everybody who cheated. Were they given the option to tell you how they cheated, where they got it from etc in order to avoid a ban or is this just special treatment because Rick has played with Crush and the other devs for years?

You've sold a million copies, you're on your way to being a reputable game dev studio, don't f**k it up by letting personal relationships stop you from being unbiased and fair.

Well with this, it's a very subtle exploit he's doing, which can be really hard to detect, if not done in an obvious manner people could have been doing this for a while without getting caught. We wanted to see exactly how he did the cheat and since then we have been investigating the issue to see how widespread it is etc - this is different than some person loading up an obvious script which we can easily detect and ban.

That being said we're looking at the situation, a game ban isn't off the table, among other punishments that may be in our power to do.

So he's free to cheat in multiplayer matches with the rest of us that don't play in tournaments?

We're looking at the evidence and a game ban, among other things, isn't off the table.
