Greetings Adventurers!
We have completed all planned merges for 2021, and would like to take a moment to detail what comes next.
First off, if you find that you are unhappy with the faction you chose previously, we will be resetting the faction cooldown for everyone in our Weekly 1.2.1 update; this will allow you to change your faction to one that better suits your playstyle on your new server (reminder: all faction transfer rules apply, you will not be able to join the most dominant faction in your world.) This will allow the merged worlds to regain their equilibrium in regards to faction population. We look forward to the awesome wars that are going to take place during this faction upheaval.
A lot of you have also been asking about server transfers. During the first round of server transfers as well as the world merges, we discovered a bug that we are working hard to fix. You can find more information here; however, in summary, we found that when multiple housing plots are stacked from merging or transfers, we reach an unsafe level of persistent data which can cause instability and potentially loss of persistence; meaning that if the bug is tripped, your house may disappear. We want to prevent that from happening and are taking the time to really understand and resolve this issue.
Looking forward, we are going to monitor the merged worlds with an eye towards stability and any unforeseen issues that may turn up. We ask that you take some time to get situated in your new world and play with some new friends! Maybe you’ll find your forever home here.
As a reminder, this is a multi-step process for some sets and we plan to reassess and address all struggling servers in early 2022. We’ll continue taking feedback on these server merges and are currently planning to release a second round of transfer tokens in early 2022. This may change depending on the feedback and data we receive.
Thank you everyone and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback!
