s | Hey, what's up, YouTube? |
---|---|
s | redbyrd here, back with another New World video. |
s | In this video, we'll be covering |
s | everything you need to know about New World's Seasons |
s | and what's coming with Season 1. |
s | This video is sponsored by Amazon Games. |
s | The biggest feature coming to New World with Seasons |
s | is the Season Pass. |
s | The Season Pass introduces new ways for players to earn meaningful rewards |
s | by playing New World. |
s | Players will earn Season XP, level up, and unlock rewards |
s | as they progress through their seasonal activities. |
s | The Season Pass contains two reward tracks: free and premium. |
s | Each track features 100 tiers of unlockable rewards |
s | for new emotes, skins, gear, and other seasonal loot. |
s | Players who have reached level 25 |
s | will have the option to purchase the premium track |
s | for additional rewards. |
s | Players can opt into the premium track at any point during the Season |
s | and will retroactively receive all eligible rewards. |
s | One of the cool things about New World's seasonal pass |
s | is that there are many ways to progress. |
s | Not only will you earn XP |
s | by playing New World the way you want to play, |
s | but they've added new activities and challenges as well. |
s | Now, along with the Season Pass comes the Season Journey and Challenges. |
s | Complete Chapters and Challenges to earn Season XP and claim rewards. |
s | Chapters and Challenges feature unique objectives |
s | to accomplish during the Season. |
s | Each objective rewards Season XP and progresses your Season Pass. |
s | Each Season comes with an Activity Stamp Card as well |
s | to help players progress the Season Pass. |
s | Now, let's talk a little bit more about the Activity Stamp Card. |
s | This is a cool, new feature that gives players more new, unique ways |
s | to progress the Season Pass. |
s | The Season Card is a mini game |
s | that prompts players to complete activities in New World |
s | while trying to connect lines for bonus Experience. |
s | Lines can be completed diagonally, vertically, and horizontally. |
s | You can reroll your sticker book at any time. |
s | Anything you already completed will stay on the card. |
s | Another thing coming with the Seasons are Season storylines. |
s | With Season 1, you'll assemble |
s | an elite team of mercenaries called the Silver Crows |
s | to help their first client, Skye the Speardaughter, |
s | confront a powerful Warlock and the Varangian horde, |
s | and halt their ambitions amidst the flames of the Empyrean Forge. |
s | Speaking of the Empyrean Forge, |
s | the new Expedition coming to New World |
s | is the Empyrean Forge. |
s | The Empyrean Forge is a level-60 Expedition |
s | located in the northern part of Great Cleave. |
s | This is an end-game Expedition |
s | that will be in the weekly Mutation rotation and Expeditions. |
s | You can enter via the Expedition entrance or by using the group-finder function. |
s | The Empyrean Forge is the first Expedition to feature the Varangian enemy type |
s | and will require Human Ward and Human Bane gear. |
s | These boss fights will pit you against challenging mechanics |
s | that are easy to learn and hard to master. |
s | Another thing coming with Season 1 is a new Heartrune Gem, |
s | Fire Storm. |
s | Fire Storm sends a tornado of fire that travels up to 17m, |
s | dealing 100% Heartrune damage |
s | and inflicting burns that deal 30% Heartrune damage |
s | per second for six seconds. |
s | Allies that get hit by Fire Storm get a 10% empowerment buff. |
s | Now, there are three different versions of the Fire Storm Heartrune Gem. |
s | The first one is Cunning. |
s | Cunning inflicts Weaken to enemies and Haste to allies. |
s | The Stalwart version inflicts Weaken and cleanses all DoT effects |
s | from allies it passes through. |
s | And then there's the Brutal version, |
s | which inflicts Weaken to targets, and travels faster |
s | and deals 200% weapon damage, |
s | but no longer applies the burn. |
s | Next is a very popular feature that's been requested in New World, |
s | and that is gear set storage. |
s | Gear sets are coming with the Season 1 update. |
s | Gear sets will allow you to switch your gear quickly between sets. |
s | Items in gear sets are not part of your inventory |
s | and do not count to inventory or storage weight. |
s | You will start with two gear sets. |
s | More can be unlocked later via the Season Pass and in-game shop. |
s | Along with all these other features is a main storyline update. |
s | Now, New World's worked hard in the past |
s | to continue to update the main story questline, |
s | and they are moving into Brightwood and Weavers. |
s | Experience these two familiar territories through a fresh narrative, |
s | more quest variety, and a few new surprises. |
s | This update brings the main story quest up to level 40. |
s | Now, even more exciting news |
s | is we'll be getting two more seasonal events during Season 1. |
s | The first one is a brand new one. It's the Springtide Bloom. |
s | Springtide Bloom is New World's spring event. |
s | This event is much like other New World events, |
s | the larger events such as the Winter Convergence. |
s | There are villages you need to visit to start the quest, |
s | earn a reputation, and buy items that are event-specific in the store, |
s | including cosmetics, new patterns and more. |
s | And everyone's favorite Corrupted Rabbit event is back |
s | with new rewards! |
s | Players will kill Corrupted Rabbits all over Aeternum |
s | for event-specific drops, |
s | including Defiled Rabbit's Foot luck consumables |
s | and the ever-elusive Defiled Storage Chest of the Hare. |
s | Now, one thing that people are really looking forward to |
s | are the new combat changes that are also coming with Season 1. |
s | Along with all the new features, there are massive changes |
s | that are going to change the way combat works in New World. |
s | These changes look to shake up |
s | both the PvP and PvE metas. |
s | The first changes are to magic and ranged weapons. |
s | The current meta in PvE is melee-heavy, |
s | with Hatchets and Greatswords being present |
s | in almost every group composition. |
s | This has led to magic and ranged weapons |
s | falling behind melee weapons in PvE content, |
s | most noticeably in end-game content like Mutated Expeditions. |
s | Here are some of the changes that are coming to the Season One update |
s | that hope to bring magic and ranged weapons back into PvE groups. |
s | They've increased the Bane power on magic and ranged weapons. |
s | They are now 10% higher than what's possible on melee weapons. |
s | They've also adjusted Mutators to no longer disproportionately affect |
s | magic users. |
s | They removed 50% or 70%, depending on the difficulty, |
s | of elemental damage reduction. |
s | And players that like to tank now have more options |
s | for a wider variety of gameplay. |
s | They've added Taunt Gem compatibility to various abilities on numerous weapons, |
s | including the Fire Staff. |
s | Now, along with the changes to PvE, |
s | New World is also focused on changing the PvP meta as well. |
s | The Musket continues to be a challenging weapon to balance |
s | due to its hit-scan nature |
s | and ability to deal massive amounts of damage at range. |
s | They have now reworked the accuracy system and how it affects the Musket shots. |
s | Shots now have a slight deviation in their trajectory, |
s | so long-ranged shots aren't as consistent |
s | when moving or firing without the Accuracy perk. |
s | Another way that New World is shaking up PvP |
s | is by reducing the damage to abilities that also apply crowd control. |
s | This should help bring troublesome melee burst builds |
s | in line with other damage-dealing weapons |
s | that lack hard CC. |
s | Finally, they are changing the way equip loads work. |
s | Now, this could possibly be |
s | the biggest change coming with the new patch. |
s | New World is making changes to the way armor works |
s | in an attempt to create a larger diversity of equip loads |
s | and make more weapons viable for all playstyles. |
s | Here is a quick look at the changes to equip load. |
s | They're adjusting the PvP mitigation formula |
s | to provide a better experience to a wider range of Gear Scores. |
s | They're changing the way Rend and Fortify function. |
s | This will make different perks stronger or weaker, |
s | depending on which equip load your build uses. |
s | For example, if you're in light armor, |
s | fortifying perks won't be as effective on you. |
s | And finally, |
s | they're adjusting the way some attribute threshold bonuses work, |
s | including removing the Grit perk from the 300 Strength position |
s | and moving it to the 300 Con threshold |
s | to increase the amount of damage you deal if you hit the 300 Strength threshold. |
s | All these combat changes go live |
s | along with Season 1 and the first Season Pass. |
