I haven’t played this in a while - are you able to just stick the sides of the bridge across without supports, or is there owning going on at lower z-levels?
Right now there is no physics sim for building and mining. I do plan on adding that stuff (with the option of disabling it). So, yes, you can build across the river without worrying about it collapsing without some supports.
