So how do you get settlers to do jobs when it seems like they have everything they need to do a job (items, zones, skills) but won't do it?

Are there any warnings when hovering over the job? Can you give us more info about the job they won't do?

Are they just standing around, or are they moving about doing other things? Usually what keeps settlers from doing a job is that they are busy doing other, higher priority jobs.

It keep saying "invalid location" when I click on water to gather with zero indication that I need any tools or anything that might elaborate on what I should be doing.

Ok, I'll take a look at making that clearer.

In the meantime, what is it you're trying to do? Collect water from a water block?
