[2020] Different dig settings?

Holding alt will only let you select blocks at the same z-level as the camera. This also lets you build in the air.

Also, for most hotkeys like this, there are buttons you'll see appear on the bottom toolbar. Some jobs have unique ones but most share a few. You can hover over them to see their function.
