I've got the game a few days ago and as someone who likes to try out what's possible in games, I tried different things in that game as well. I've got a colony which was somewhat stable. I wanted to migrate and I've read that I can't get back to my settlement, which is totally fine by me. So I saved my game, clicked on migrate, chose one villager, picked some food and water and go! But my guy died on his way.

  1. I would like to know the cause of the death, so I know if I didn't gave him enough food for example. It just said my colonist died.

  2. (Which is way worse) Right after the death the game changed for one frame to my existing colony, saved and then showed me the game over screen. Because it saved after my man died, I couldn't continue at the point before I started to migrate, and exactly that's why I saved beforehand. It would be amazing if that could get changed.

Otherwise this game is pretty fun, even tho I can imagine there isn't a lot more to do. Maybe I'm wrong?

Hmmm, the cause of death should appear. I'll look into this to see if there is a bug.

Ya, seems like a split audience on the permadeath mechanic. You can sort of "hack" that by renaming the back up folder for your save from 0_back to 0 (replace the number with the respective slot). I'll see if I can add some modes for players that don't like playing with permadeath.
