Hello.
Someone had a similar question with a comparison to RoR here:

The game is inspired by Dwarf Fortress. I get comparisons a lot to other games like Rimworld and RoR (haven't honestly played this one) but I just don't look to them for inspiration. DF is my main inspiration. I'm striving to make something as deep as that but with friendlier UI.
Does this game have depth? You'll probably want a non-dev to give you the answer to this one. :P I will say that it's going to take years to get close to the god-king, DF. We're always adding small things to make the game deeper and that's definitely our goal.
Does the game have z-depth? Yes.
How is the crafting in this game? We have a few areas of crafting. The first is your general building of props, plants, blocks, etc. The second is using rooms (smithy, forge, kitchen, distillery, etc) which you place to build items. This includes things such as smelting ore, cooking meals, making weapons, etc. The game has an outfit system to equip the things you craft on your settlers. Or you can just trade them when merchants stop by. There's technically a third 'crafting' type in the form of summons which the Ancients (the second playable race) can do.
You should check out the recent Let's Plays by Splattrcat to get a sense for the game:

He plays as one of the races, the Ancients. We have plans to have five playable races. Two of which are in the game now. Each race has completely different gameplay mechanics.
Anywho, hope that helps.
