Did you have food and water in their room? Animals will only eat in their room.

They should drink the water perfectly fine. Do they have the Survival skill enabled?

Are you playing the beta? I'm putting out a patch today which fixes up some issues with entities not eating/drinking.

0.11.0.4 has a ton of fixes for this. Please check it out and let me know if your issues persist.
