If you use a google play store or iOS (Game center) based account on mobile, you cannot currently convert it into a real PC account. Unless there is some hidden documentation. I have been researching this for a couple of hours now. How can Jagex expect to retain players who want to upgrade to the full experience but cannot?

There are a couple of sources out there that "claim" it can be done but none of them work.

This link has the supposed documentation on it.

But if you actually log in on mobile you will notice a huge problem, the images shown do not represent what is actually in game.

So then you start looking for "hacky" methods to make it work:

Details how you can, from within the mobile app, connect to your account page by clicking the "view inbox" button in the account management panel. This seems all well and fine until you log in and, again just like the previous example, there is no way to actually do this:

Another guide here suggests that if you wait on the splash page (the one that says "click here to play") you can click on "inbox" from there to be redirected to the site. This is a dead click, nothing happens, maybe before, but not now.

Lastly, lots of people are struggling with this issue. If you search with keywords you will find people posting, rarely receiving answers...

There are many more examples, if you want an even larger flood of examples check the comments of the youtube video i just posted, tons of people are posting in those comments as well with the same problem, I cannot post them all, needless to say A LOT of people are having this problem!

This is a real issue this needs to be resolved or at least answered in some way. As you all know, reaching customer support is completely impossible. I have two dear clan mates that have been struggling with this for awhile now, and are ready to quit completely. One of them got a new computer for christmas and can't even play runescape which is the whole reason for him wanting it. They can't do any of the content they want because of mobile limitations, and frustratingly messaged me today explaining everything I've explained here to you.

I have been helping them try and find answers to this solution for hours now, and to say the least it has been tedious and frustrating with all avenues leading to dead ends. I don't get how you can expect the average player to do the amount of work and research I've put into this problem, they'd rather up and leave it for another game.

Every other post made about this dies off with 2-3 upvotes. Please help make this problem noticed by jagex, to keep new players playing the game, to keep the community growing. Thank you for your time and for reading.

Hey guys. We appreciate that the fix has been a while coming, but it is something we've been working on. It's not quite as simple as a game content change.

Mod Acorn recently replied to a thread by the same OP, but for more context (since there are more replies and votes here), here's the status of the fix:

It hasn't been forgotten about. Any update to mobile needs to be tested by us, and then it also needs to be tested by the App Store. It is actively being worked on, and we hope to be able to update you soon.
