There's a typo there.

That should be removed now. Thanks for catching!
So, kinda just another wintertodt but for fishing?
Will this boss have it own pet, have a chance of getting a heron, or no pet chance?
It was mentioned on a stream that there are plans to have a pet with this skill boss.
Just to be clear
Much as the Spirit of Tempoross itself attracts fish, Spirit Bait is an untradeable resource that when automatically consumed while fishing, improves your chance of catching extra fish for no XP. This effect stacks with Rada's Blessing.
Does this remove the xp from all fish or just the extra fish you get as part of the bonus? Assuming the second but isn't 100% clear
The Spirit Bait only removes the XP for the extra fish caught, same as Rada's Blessing. So you'd catch a fish, get the XP for it then the bait would give you a chance of receiving another fish for no extra XP.

The blog has been changed to reflect that the Fish Barrel can only be used to withdraw fish while at a bank so this will not be usable in things like Fight Caves and Inferno. I've added it as a changelist to the top of the blog.
Would you be able to get 3 fish in one tick with rada + spirit bait? Or would it just increase the second fish chance
It'll just increase the second fish chance if you have both Spirit Bait and Rada's Blessing.
Would the Spirit Bait work on the same fish Rada's Blessing works on, or would it only work on fish that require (regular?) bait?
Spirit Bait will work on the same fish as Rada's Blessing, yep.
Is wintertodt really seen as a gold standard for skilling bossing?
I don't see why any new content should try to copy it. Todt is pretty bad, but this is that + creatively bankrupt on top of it.
Wintertodt certainly isn't the gold standard no - we all know it has numerous problems (some of which I'd like to address at some stage), this content certainly draws many parallels, but it is aiming to address those whilst taking the stronger elements of wintertodt like being a very social heavy feature.
That comes down to many things really:
The design of the actual mechanics, of how the boss is 'fought' and defeated. Expect this to learn from Wintertodt and offer something different.
The balancing overall is aiming to offer diversity throughout fishing as a different way to train.
Avoiding balancing issues around skillers (10hp players) having an advantage over those with higher levels.
I really believe the core of wintertodt is good - the core being that overall structure, of social group content with lots of players go into an encounter together - being rewarded based on your contribution.
I get the instant reaction for sure - and some of these are hard to portray in a blog too tbh, to emphasise the difference.
