Hi all, I'm having trouble getting into my account and completely out of ideas. So I've played on mobile for about 4 years on one phone and have always just hit play now with my username showing and logged in no problem. Now I finally got a new phone but whenever I try to login with my the email tied to that account it just starts a new game. I tried running that new game long enough to register a new email to it but when I tried logging in with the original email it just creates another new game. Jagex definitely knows that email is in use because I get an email saying so if I try to make a jagex account with it, but when I do forgot password and have it sent to that email it just sends an email saying this account is already in use instead of a reset link. I'm praying a mod can step in and help I'm at my wits end and really don't want to lose 4 years of progress and membership payments :(

My initial thought is that you have a Jagex account that shares its login e-mail with a RuneScape account. When trying to log in to the website or mobile clients, the login screen will prioritise using Jagex account login details, which means the RuneScape account will be inaccessible.

There are two ways to be able to access the RuneScape account on the website and mobile again:

  1. Change the login e-mail of the Jagex account - this will mean there is no conflict of login details, so you will be able to log into the RuneScape character using its usual details.
  2. Import the RuneScape character to the Jagex account. The character will then appear as one of the available options when logging in using the Jagex account details.

If you're playing on desktop, characters which have not yet been upgraded to Jagex accounts can only play using our standalone clients (accessed by clicking 'Game Direct Download' on the game's download page) - you can continue to play on these using the usual login details. If you upgrade to a Jagex account, you will then need to use the Jagex Launcher to play.

If this doesn't fix the issue, could you please submit a ticket here, and we'll get this looked into?
