Will this new polling system make updates slower? Say we vote yes on this "mysterious quest", and you guys begin production and development, once your done it has to get polled again right to be added?

If this question passes, the quest will be coming out once its been developed. The only thing we'd need to poll after this are the rewards from the repeatable boss, if that passes ofc!

With the new poll changes, are we moving away from " as described in the blog?" The CA poll reads "Should we offer the ability to earn additional Warrior Tokens as a tiered reward from Combat Achievements?" does that mean if we vote yes you'll change it from what the blog was or add it as per the blog?

It's still as per the blog, just adding that text to every question bloats the poll out a lot. Instead, the blog is referenced at the top of the poll :)

Neither - it'll be repeatable in the same way something like Vorkath is

I get the new polling system but honestly having a question that's just "shall we add a quest to the game without knowing anything about it" is so redundant and pointless. If we vote no is that the end of quests on osrs? Doesn't seem like something that's even worth listing in the questions as the answer is obviously always going to be yes.

With the new polling changes in place, we wanted to experiment a bit with how we discuss certain content.

This would be the very first experiment as we thought quests were a good choice as it hearkens back to the days of giving you little information. We are definitely going to trial new approaches and if they don't work that gives us a concrete place for us not to try that or at least adjust a specific approach in the future.

I would ask what specific details would you need to make you vote yes to a quest?

Nothing against higher XP for quests, but hope it doesn’t become an excuse to get lazy with item / QoL rewards

Untradeables and Unlockable areas / content / bosses / things you otherwise can’t do are the reason why questing is the best, worldbuilding etc

Yes, this isn't an alternative to not adding interesting unlockable rewards, just a way to make those quests a bit more enticing and rewarding overall.

EDIT: Especially considering the types of quests they are described as :)

In my opinion, region and continuation upon which quest line are important, as well as the rewards but you've listed those.

But what if those two details are the ones we're specifically trying to be secret about, regardless of our new approach?

New quests being added with little information about them is one of the most old school things I can think of.

Hopefully this is a good thing for you?

excited for the quests and dungeoneering, please put dungeoneering as a skill, rework the rewards etc

I wouldn't get my hopes up for the latter.

What about quest back-porting, is there any added info on that? Or is it still on the backburner? Nonetheless, new quests particularly one with little details mentioned is exciting

Nothing new on backporting yet, but the survey has been very helpful in terms of what we would do next.

Big fan of the layout of this new blog, certainly exciting/interesting.
Would say that I don't think quests need any changes to the amount of XP they give. The quest itself doesn't have to be rewarding in an XP sense, it should be rewarding/fun to play or have rewards that are unlocked from it.
It sort of sets a precedent that XP is all that matters and I feel like a lot of RS3 quests went this way too.

Thanks! Definitely something a lil bit different to say the least!

Why not both? I think you could get good XP rewards and interesting unlockables whilst having fun playing quests, especially if that quest is in the final stages of its storyline for example.

Sounds like the mystery quest may be a continuation of an existing storyline, cause if it was a new standalone quest, they probably wouldn't keep it a secret.

Based on the news post, I think the next entry in the Kourend series makes the most sense, based on the ending of A Kingdom Divided.

However I'd really like to see some other questlines continued. Penguin questline when.

they probably wouldn't keep it a secret.

Or would we...?

Fyi: The dropdowns to hide the rewards and stuff automatically opens, that might be a mistake.

This should be fixed now, thanks for flagging :)
