Hey all, you'll have to excuse my lack of direct input here as I didn't work on this poll at the time of it going live but I think I can provide some insight and clear up any confusion.

Shortly after the content went live, we realised (from your feedback) that this wasn't implemented as it was polled. We addressed this in a dedicated Reddit thread asking for Guardians of the Rift related questions for the Livestream that week.

This is the response we gave at the time:

The Abyssal Lantern was blogged & polled as coming from the rewards shop, however, during development we changed this because developers realized it doesn't make sense thematically for a Saradominist Wizard to sell Abyssal-themed items. It was an oversight to mention that it would not be coming from the rewards shop. We'd like to know how the wider community feels about keeping things the way that they are, or whether we need to allow it to be bought in a way that makes thematic sense. If you would prefer us to make it purchasable, we can do so. We'd set the price at 1500 Abyssal Pearls. On average, this would mean that the Abyssal Lantern takes longer to get than it currently is estimated to get from the rift, but it will of course be more consistent. This is not hotfixable, so we'd fit this within the coming weeks.

Now I'll happily admit that having this only mentioned in a Reddit thread isn't ideal, and usually we'd include it as part of the feedback tables you see at the top of blogs for new content releases. I can only apologise, as I imagine many of you missed this as a result.

But that's what happened in this case. As we didn't really see any further complaints or commentary to suggest we needed to take further action, we left it as it was implemented.

I feel like including it in a future poll to see if the majority of the players would prefer it to come from the shop rather than a drop could be a good idea, given the fact its been this way for 8 months now and there was genuine reason for it to eventually be implemented the way it was, but we've already polled that before...

I'm curious to hear how you think we should handle this going forward. What do you think?
