Ive been seeing a lot of people meme and complain about certain parts of the quest but I just wanted to say how amazing the quest was. I knew after Dragon Slayer 2, having a story line be as well done as that would be hard, but they absolutely nailed it!

Me and some friends did the quest without a guide and it took about 14 hours (light puzzle took 5 hours alone). But it was some of the most fun I've ever had in OSRS.

There may be some brief spoilers! Ill try my best not to hit anything huge.

Story

The story was fantastic. From the start to the end, it was a roller coaster of action and drama. Within the first chapter of the quest you had us doing questionable things to begin a rebellion. We got to dress up as a Knight of Ardougne and turns the citizens against their king.

We saw the execution of a king we've all known for over a decade. Cant say I didnt feel a bit bad about that.

The antagonist of the story had a good character development. Often I was wondering who the bad guy actually is. A few times I thought I might be on the wrong side..

All lead up to fighting a fragment of Seren, which may have been the only time we see some form of a God/ess.

The combat in the quest, even if it was easy, always felt epic. The Battle of Ardougne. The Battle of Lleyta. The underground pass. Each battle had me fully immersed.

and finally the Battle of Seren. Fighting in total darkness. With no music during the dialogue/cut scene. It reminded me of the fight Cloud and Sephiroth have at the very end of FF7.

Music

As always, the music was so fitting. Im constantly blown away that we have over 600 incredibly done music tracks. They arent 30 second harmonies that are looped, but instead full on 3minute+ songs with different verses.

Entering the Temple of Light, and the song "Song of the Elves" starts playing so perfect. It gave me chills and honestly set the vibe of "im stepping into an ancient wonder." The OSRS version of stepping into the Egyptian Pyramids.

Art Design

Alright, I know many people dont like it. Although while I was doing the quest I never once was bothered by everything. It all fit for me, and I thought things looked fantastic. The villians looked menacing (maybe a bit disney-esque). The rebels vs the enemies kind of reminds me of Starwars (4-6), rebels vs imperials.

Over all, I get the criticisms, but at the same time I think everyone will get use to it - just like back when imps, demons, and dragons got updated. I remember Varrok guards getting updated and I absolutely hated it.

Priffdinas

Wont dwell much on the post quest content, but finally being to step into Prff last night was..amazing. I spent atleast an hour just wandering and exploring the city. Talking to every person to see what they would say. Watching the gladiators duke it out in the ring, stumbling into the clothing shop and seeing new cosmetics (500k & 250mil pieces?!). It was a throw back to before the days where I just looked up the wiki page to see what the city had. All the small details were fantastic.

Even stumbling onto the singing bowl, wondering what this was for, and seeing the recipe book in the corner of the room that displayed the materials to create something was awesome! Jagex could have easily had you just talk to someone with the mats and theyd create it. I really do appreciate small things like that.

Special Mentions..The comedy

I had some actual laugh out loud moments. At the beginning, going with the name Tim when youre going undercover as a Ardougne Knight. Talking to prison guards and having the silly convo of "who the hell is Tim".

And then.. half way through the quest when all the Ardougne stuff is done, and you walk into the Iowerth Elf Cave, and 2 elven gaurds go "Who are you?!" and you respond as "I am Tim." and begin fighting. I loved it.

Anyway, I know im leaving a bunch out. Im at work, but I havnt seen any posts talking about how amazing this quest was. I just wanted to say Thanks to the Jagex team for nailing it with this quest. Questing in Runescape is so much different than other MMO's, and its one of the only things in OSRS that youre not able to grind over and over again. The fact that so much work is put into it when youll only do it once makes me really appreciate it.
