Kind of confused, as a leader of a casual clan, i dont have things like start dates. We just kind of started talking in a cc so we didnt have to pm. Will I need to pre register our clan name? Or will I be able to create it once it is updated? Edit: Also, will be be able to change the name of the clan like we can do now?
If you're not concerned someone else will snipe your Clan name, there's no need to pre-register. Just simply create it when the Clan rework goes live :)
Yes you'll be able to rename your Clan, though it'll be limited to once every 7 days.
You might want to add clarification about using capital letters as stylization. What about reserving name variations (e.g. abbreviation)? Also, is the name permanent or can it be changed later?
The naming system works the exact same as it does for displaynames, but we can cover those instances when we discuss with the Clan leader at the time of creation.

That is an interesting edge-case. I think the existing CC implementation already worked fine tbh, having multiple clan channels provided more granularity.
The current friends/clan chat system will remain in-game so I assume these types of "clans" will continue to exist how they do now.

I believe it is 500 players at any one time.

There should be something for every type of player, or at least a way to find a Clan that might suit you best :)

Yeah exactly that. Chambers of Xeric will continue to run from the friends chat system rather than the new Clan system.
What discord account will you be contacting the clan leaders on? My clan and many others will have open discords. This leaves many clan leaders open to phishing attacks from people pretending to be jmods.
We'll be contacting from various JMod accounts but we'll verify who we are. We don't actually need any information other than a suitable time to meet up in-game, so just remember to not give your details to anyone! Us JMods don't need it unless we ask for it, and when we do, it'll be via your accounts message centre :)
