11s today and yesterday we've been running
12s the song at Yale's play test where we've
14s been testing the gauntlet and as Elkanah

24s questions before we introduce these the

41s welcome just a few questions about the
44s play testing not giving away any
45s specifics of the content but how have
47s you found the experience in the office
48s is it as jagex HQ what you imagined it
51s would be yeah this has been really good
54s we've been treated really well and just
56s the office in general is really really
58s nice place to be in to be fair the play
61s testing computers are awesome and that
63s whole area just really cool it's always
67s great to be here I was here before for
68s am testing theater blood and then when I
71s got the opportunity to come back it was
72s a no-brainer I love coming to meet other
74s players the experience the play testing
77s it's all fantastic it almost makes you
80s sad to leave at the end yeah it's been
83s really nice we've been fed really well
84s got some good food
85s so the plate testings been really fun
88s like it's nice to see content before
90s it's released and get to experience it
92s and have like a feedback that we can
93s give on it knowing before it goes out
95s it's going to be better for people
97s because we've got to get hands-on with
98s it yeah so it's been really cool meeting
101s on j-mods because it's been a game I've
104s played for like 10 years or something
105s and they've all been really lovely the
108s fella place that testers have been
110s really nice has just been great

119s forward to other than you test it the
121s gauntlet was okano
123s what am I going first yeah the gauntlet
128s is really really good and speedran in
131s that is gonna be a lot of fun to do
133s trying to get like under a certain
136s amount of time that a few of us were
137s struggling to do today and yesterday but
139s over the coming weeks I think a lot of
142s people are gonna be trying a lot to get
144s those good times and people are gonna be
147s going for the record for a while I
148s reckon yeah fine both are really good
152s and I was more interested in the
154s gauntlet being a PV Emma and yeah the
156s replayability on it afterwards is gonna
158s be so so great and there's so many
161s different things in there that I like
162s that I've got into specifics and I'm
164s really excited for release just to go
166s straight back into it again yeah
169s gauntlet looking forward to the corner
170s at the most like it introduces a
172s time-based content in old-school like
174s being against the time which we've not
176s really seen before so it's like instead
178s of fighting against the boss and killing
180s it over and over you've got however long
182s to take on the gauntlet and do it as
183s fast as you can and you're under time
185s pressure which is something new to old
186s school I think it's a good experience
187s but it still feels old-school
189s yes I'll classified myself as skilar I
192s still think the gauntlet wasn't my
194s favorite thing because it has a lot of
196s skilling aspects we've liked micro
199s efficiency in that and overall there's a
202s lot of depth into it like we had
203s feedback sessions we've done about to go
206s on and a soul Kano and we could see the
209s changes from Tuesday to today instantly
212s that's great yeah so I'm gonna grab it
214s off script sorry so overwhelmingly for
217s the gauntlet and has it met all your
219s expectations do you think or meeting
220s expectations of the rest of the
221s playerbase
221s yeah definitely yeah definitely yeah we
224s have some fantastic feedback as well the
225s j-mods all took that on board a lot of
228s discussions and the way that we actually
230s gave feedback was we used existing
232s pieces of content to illustrate the
234s stuff we liked and didn't like and then
236s they've already got a visual
237s representation of the stuff that we hold
239s very dear and the stuff that we're
240s looking towards in terms of like finesse
242s aesthetics and things we've really enjoy
245s in pvm and they've started to integrate
247s that into the mini game yeah I agree
250s with that like the way we did feedback
252s was good and it was nice to see how
253s quickly it got picked up on like even
255s between it took less than a day for our
258s feedback to be picked up on and then we
260s saw the changes and it felt better to do
262s yeah so just a feedback they've really
265s humble we've taken in our
267s quick decisions and like things we like
269s so yeah it's nice to see their response
273s to it you want to tell the rest of the
275s playerbase what testing at Jagex is like
277s how the house is your days look in terms
279s of testing feedback sessions how that is
281s low we do know it's like an hour till
284s hours have just basically just chucked
285s in playing the content and then we did a
287s sessions where we'd sit around and
289s everyone would give them give their
291s feedback and then basically after that I
294s think the guys worked on like coding in
297s the changes that we suggested and then
299s we came back today and played the the
301s changed content and then we got to you
304s know see their changes in action and
306s gave more feedback based on that so yeah
309s it's pretty much how it one school just
312s to address the chat like everything
314s we're saying seems to be overwhelmingly
315s positive are we making you say these
317s kind of things
318s no what's genuinely good long is great
324s personally I admit the Sakae know the
327s Soekarno has a lot of things that could
329s have improved on base in fact it had
331s gone look it's it's repetitive but it's
336s a skilling boss but you expect that to
338s an extent so it's going to be a while
340s before it comes out so that any of the
341s feedback done today that we didn't like
343s it could also be addressed in that time
346s the structure that we had as well when
348s we came in we weren't actually briefed
350s about what we were going into interface
352s and that was so jackets to get an
354s authentic representation of what it will
356s be like for the playerbase
357s when they play on release we would give
361s our criticism things that we liked and
363s then they'd change that and we do Zul
365s Connor okay no and when we've come back
367s we would then do the goal again with the
369s changes yeah this is great maybe change
371s things here you know ask questions and
375s those sorts of things in terms of
377s criticism we didn't really have very
379s much we had to really delve deep to get
382s there but in terms of difficulty I felt
384s it could be a bit higher and what I
387s described was at the moment I thought it
388s was about 60% now in terms of difficulty
391s I'd like to see that improve before
394s official release sweet that's what the

506s to go through the usual notices and

510s what's happening with warding so free
512s weeks ago we published a revised warning
514s blog i like that time we announced our
516s intention to pull the content in May
518s well the amount of feedback we've got
520s was astounding so a big thank you for
522s that across social media talking
523s supplies internally the survey we sent
525s all about we've got tens of thousands of
528s pieces of feedback suggest in the
529s comments to get through so we're going
531s to take more time to revise the content
532s and get rid of the likes of battle wards
534s and opie armors and then we'll pour the
538s content so no date attached to when
541s we're going to pull it it's not yet we
544s want to take time to go through to
545s feedback and given us and try and make
546s the content what you want it to be then
548s you have a chance to vote yes although
549s no another thank you for the feedback I
552s think that's pretty much it

556s looking at publishing a public design
559s document before the official blog blog
561s release to give you more transparency on
563s the input of the content and we're also
565s scoping how viable an ongoing test box

572s what warning will be before we pull it
574s and even then after should I pass

616s what a Jagex has plans for a big updates
618s if warding fails and how much time would
620s there be between polling and the
621s potential launch date of warning so the
625s second part the question first okay if
627s warning does passes Paul it will be the
629s time it takes to get that skill ready
631s there's no way we'll be adding a skill
633s and into the game unless we get it to
635s that point where we all feel very
636s comfortable that it's ready to go
638s and probably more further than with any
641s other update really we'll be taking that
643s to the players as we as you just
644s mentioned we're investigating weapon we
647s can have basically a beater going
649s alongside the game so that players can
650s actually test it before it gets ready to
652s launch and it certainly be the sort of
654s thing that we're gonna be iterating on
655s and improving taking the feedback before
657s we get to the point of launching into
659s the game also from a practical point of
661s view getting the engine side of another
663s entry on the high scores for another
666s skill isn't the work of a moment so it's
671s like all in all it will probably be
673s longer than the usual big update after
676s after I put the skills massive heavy
678s compared to something like theater but
679s if they were blood that took reasonably
682s four five months of development the
684s skills gonna be longer than that for
686s sure so I think if we I mentioned this
689s earlier if we're looking at a comparison
691s if you if your werewolf rather runescape
695s freeze mining us different we work that
697s was a long ongoing effort with lots of
699s public participation InDesign documents
701s and beta worlds open for specific times

709s what are our plans for big updates
711s rewarding fails well in that case would

716s same way we originally ended up with

728s community's ideas and we'll pick what we

752s there any chances of Archaea spell book
755s teleports being added to import the
757s chamber or porta Nexus has made that
761s nexus expandable for this kind of
763s purpose so we should be able to add as
765s much there so you like I'm not sure what
768s the limit is but I gather it's a lot
769s higher than the old chambers were the
771s portal chambers can do but to have lots
775s more of those you end up needing to have
777s lots and lots and lots of rooms which is
779s partly why I invented the Nexus so
781s that's not the direction we prefer to go
784s the Nexus is intent of this kind of
787s thing nobody think of any reasons why we
791s wouldn't know I think it'd be quite nice
793s to do really maybe there might be too
795s many teleports on there but I mean you
797s can just not put them on there if you
799s don't want them to you can also very
801s easily order everything on the Nexus
802s itself so it's not you're complaining
804s because he getting experimented by our
807s case our parts well to put something
809s there you'd have to well pay a lot of
811s rooms you know what hopes you intended
814s to do it so you're making over one that
817s I've done Jason asks can you make
822s supplies in the theatre oblige the
823s supply chest only usable and tradable

1421s Seas even though they're out DPS them in
1423s the majority of situations so as an
1428s aside I've kind of added it's the issue
1429s the requirement or the actual balancing
1431s well that's why I'm as well as like
1433s changing they were quiet the twist the
1435s bow from 75 to 90 might be accurate
1437s whatever quite many go for but for most
1440s people with it I might you Plus anyway
1442s hmm so I'm not only something much more
1445s a problem but it maybe would be nice to
1447s make a more representative where it
1449s where its power is that what it would do
1451s is kind of establish more of a cap of
1454s how strong something between 75 and 90
1457s could be for future content but I think
1460s they play the reason to play one set and
1461s the reason why some people in the chat
1463s my once it is because imply some sort of
1465s balancing towards it or they wanted to
1467s see it balanced rather than their levels
1469s yeah it makes it represent what it
1473s reasonably does right mm and there would
1476s be some things that do need nothing like

1482s that's a blowpipe it's a big topic
1484s itself one we need is a topic we need to
1489s touch upon well it's what way of
1492s addressing the point that the player
1493s raising this question okay so let's take
1498s a look from this then let's review how a
1500s strong weapons are and it's a case of
1502s rebalancing in level requirements or
1505s whether its damage output yeah
1510s OSR astone asked can we get a faster
1513s more click intensive way to make cannon
1515s balls the cart method is so slow I
1516s actually would do record rate asking
1519s this question before so apologies for
1520s that one I think the takeaway was that
1522s we wanted to do it in player in house
1523s perhaps a few different proposals and
1526s this one like what I really over you
1529s make a special fair with your Poh then
1531s you can use that one for fast cattle
1532s ball making but another was to bolt on
1535s some kind of a mold to the blast furnace
1537s itself in kilogram now what I'd want to
1540s see if we were to do it is that it have
1542s substantially more requirements than the
1544s existing method not in terms of not just
1548s in terms of what you do to do the
1550s process but in terms of who can do it
1552s since I'd like this one to be a bit more
1555s restricted to keep bots away from it
1557s could be put behind a little mini dwarf
1560s quest as well could well be songs it's
1563s not something that you can fate there
1565s counts go through dwarf cannon quest and
1569s dump head off to do quickly that's true
1573s so that supposed to be low level
1575s smithing order yeah so that's us maybe
1578s but we need to think of the right way to
1581s do it and so when we two immutable could
1583s always decrease the time depending on
1585s your smithing level as well okay so
1589s making it reward smithing level would be
1591s nice especially it's not many things
1592s scale on that so easily we spoke about
1598s adding stuff edema backlog and this
1599s question is could we publicly publish
1601s the backlog we've talked about this

1606s in various ways it's something I've
1609s always loved because like I like the
1613s idea that we're fully open and what the
1615s community can see a lot of the stuff
1617s that we've got in flight and it ain't
1618s exactly secret considering it comes off
1620s players in the first place yes we're
1632s telling it we always come on here and
1633s talk to players about stuff that were
1634s working on so I don't see any harm and
1637s the players being able to see that
1638s publicly anyway and I think it would
1640s actually help to make it clear because
1642s so many of the questions we end up
1644s getting on here where's this project at
1646s and if it was public you can see that
1650s and benefit all of us well they'd also
1654s see of course that just get on the
1655s backlog doesn't mean it moves very fast
1656s yeah like that one about cannonballs has
1659s been there for a while too I believe but
1663s I got no problem with people seeing what
1664s was on there I'm just aware that we
1666s would have the ongoing dialogue about
1669s why is this on there but that one didn't
1671s make it
1672s why is this one so lowdown why is that
1674s one being the one chosen when this one
1676s hasn't been it's not much different what
1678s we get now but since there'd be a lot
1680s more information to query I do think we
1683s get a lot more requirement to justify
1685s every detail about what's there what's
1688s not there and explain on demand which
1690s one of them means when sometimes things
1693s are added to the backlog without that
1694s level of detail such as something
1697s involving better cannonballs people
1699s who've earned it we'd have to come up
1701s with a system that works as well like it
1702s doesn't necessarily have to be that we
1704s publish absolutely everything but we
1706s could come up with maybe a version that
1708s we do I can't imagine there being
1710s anything on there that we don't want
1711s players to know that they've suggested
1712s anyway yeah if I recall rightly before I
1717s either left he was looking at so we used
1719s to integrate if it's possible to
1722s integrate a trolley board with the JIRA
1725s jobs I which I believe is what for
