My iron Fobdulla got banned for macroing/botting and i cant work out how its possible. Really struggling to work out the hole in the security here, any advice/ideas would be appreciated. Here's some details:

  1. Got perma banned in november 2023
  2. Haven't actively played since late 2020
  3. Pretty sure i last logged in sometime in 2022 with a free week of amazon membership, may have logged in since then but can't remember
  4. Runescape account is 2FA enabled
  5. Associated email account is 2FA enabled and is only used for this runescape account
  6. Password managers are in use/passwords aren't shared across services at all
  7. When i log into the runescape account 2FA is still enabled (although i cant load the webpage to update my authenticator)
  8. I discovered I was banned because I was switching from Authy to 2FAS
  9. Fobdulla is my only account

Passwords have been changed, 2FA has been updated with the exception of RS as i cant load the page.

I've lodged an appeal to get my account unbanned and am hoping for the best.

You may have accidentally used a client that captured login or authenticator details. There are dodgy variations of Runelite that appear on Google from time to time, for example.

I'd recommend adding a new authenticator to e-mail and your game account. Change the passwords, remove any linked accounts etc.

I can see you've appealed, so it'll be a matter of time before support take a look.
