The reveals for OSRS were extremely disappointing. Yes, Group ironman mode is going to be fun for a portion of players, but many players won't actually stick around to play the game mode. The game mode is very good for streamers, groups of friends or even couples to play together. Regardless, group ironman was very much requested and so it was finally announced.

However, A LARGE portion of OSRS are PvM'ers. No one, literally no one ever said: "Let's add even more things to Morytania." It just confuses me as to why Jagex would base all the new announced PvM content (which isn't much) in Morytania. If Jagex had actually been listening to the players, they would know they'd have to expand on the desert area.

The 3rd party client drama, Jagex announcing updates no one asked for and so many more things just give me the feeling the OSRS team is slowly getting out of touch with their playerbase.

I'm really sorry you feel that way. I feel like everything we've offered is in response to community demand, and it's dismaying to feel otherwise.

The very technical work that makes Group Ironman possible is the basis of the Clan System, something we've been wanting to deliver since OSRS was released. I consider Group Ironman to be the cherry on top of the Clan release.

We do know there's appetite for content in the desert, and I've been in tons of internal content pitches for stuff in that area.

We're quite keen on reaching a resolution in the Myreque series (which is what took us to Morytania). After that, perhaps we go to the desert, and to Menaphos?
