Last month, I saw various posts claiming it became (nearly) impossible to get loot from KQ due to the new anti-alting mechanic. This is a bold statement to make. When I got a 191 Kalphite task yesterday, I decided to track some actual data for it.

Result: I obtained loot from all 191 KQ kills!

Of course, I was probably a bit lucky. But the kills were done on various moments of the day, including peak time. It seems like the new anti-alt mechanic barely affects legit ironmen at all. I did once see a player run into the cave while I was killing KQ, but he didn't get attacked by KQ so it didn't prevent me from getting loot.

From personal experience with my earlier KQ kills, someone runs in the cave (thus not using the "Listen" option) every ~50-100 kills. Since most people have recoil or vengeance, this ruins the kill in case KQ attacks them. This has been the case since the release of Ironman mode, an issue unrelated to the new alti-alt mechanics. So I'm not sure why it is only considered a problem since that anti-alt mechanics update. Maybe due to misinformation, since the first post about it claimed the KQ kill is ruined at the moment someone else sets foot into the lair? And another post about it is from someone that made a KQ alting guide, so it seems like they want the update to be reversed to be able to use an alt for it again?

That all being said, a KQ instance would still be nice to avoid the occasional ruined kill every ~50-100 kc, fixing the minor issue that's been there since Ironman mode release while keeping it impossible to alt it.

Hey :) An Ironman only instance should be coming. I can’t confirm exactly when but the devs have been working on it as a priority.
