No Iām not. Mod West has been continually roasted by other mods and players for adding so much purple to the game. Needs more purple though.
I think it's more of a confirmation bias thing rather than a personal mission to add purple to every part of the game. I'm the longest standing artist at this point and perhaps interact with the community more than the others do so it gives the impression I'm behind all these purple additions.
Do I like the colour? Sure, but that's not the reason why we use specific colours. Colours are literally all we have when it comes to describing a surface material and they're also used to invoke certain emotions or tie specific themes together. Purple is associated with wealth , wisdom and royalty so it gets used for opulent areas (Verziks throne room) or places with a lot of magic (Dark Altar). It's also Zaros' main colour so if anything touches on that lore expect to see purple. That was the line of thinking with Camdozaal as we're insinuating a connection to the lost city of Lassar, a Zarosian stronghold. Perhaps we went a bit overboard in hindsight - next time we won't make purple the main ground and wall colour, heh.
Anyway, it's got to meme-level overload now as whenever we make anything purple it gets commented on while we use green for the millionth time and nobody bats an eye... as I said, confirmation bias or whatever, haha.
