s in this video we are going to take a
s slightly deeper look at old school
s runescape interface I'm going to walk
s you through each tap in the interface
s giving you a brief rundown of what they
s are used for as I explained in the main
s introduction to old school video your
s in-game interface may not quite look
s like mine there are small differences
s between the in-game interface for mobile
s users and desktop users as well as
s people using different interface layouts
s however the content of the interface
s will always remain the same
s it may be arranged differently but your
s core features of the tabs chat box and
s mini-map will always be there so let's
s jump into the content of each tab in the
s interface and to start the combat tab
s this tab contains a few vital options
s for combat this is where your attack
s style is chosen
s when using melee your attack style can
s determine whether you gain experience in
s attack strength defense or all three at
s once
s when using ranged it can affect whether
s or not you gain defense experience and
s it can affect the speed at which you
s attack when using magic it can again
s affect whether or not you gain defense
s experience and the tab can also be used
s to automatically cast spells when you
s have a staff equipped beyond attack
s styles this tab is also home to the
s special attack bar many weapons in old
s school runescape offer special attacks
s unique attacks which offer bonuses like
s greater accuracy or multiple hits at
s once at the expense of special attack
s energy next up let's take a look at the
s stats tab this tab shows your current
s level and experience in each skill it
s also shows the total level of your
s account through this tab you can open a
s skill guide for any of the 23 skills in
s old school these so called guides don't
s really tell you how to use the skills
s but they do have a lot of information
s about level requirements and sometimes
s ingredients to use or create certain
s things now let's take a look at the
s quest tab the quest tab tracks your
s progress through each question oldschool
s clicking or tapping on any of these
s quests will bring up a question all
s these detail your progress the requests
s you have started or completed and show
s requirements to complete a quest for
s those you have not however this is not
s the only function of this tab for
s desktop users the top right contains a
s few colored icons which can be clicked
s to access three more tabs the
s achievement diary tab the minigame tab
s and the current favor tab for mobile
s users there are arrows at the top of the
s interface to switch between these
s different interfaces in old school
s achievement Diaries exist for key areas
s of the map these are collections of area
s specific
s and tasks to accomplish once you
s complete a diary you receive a one-off
s reward and unlock some new content your
s progress through the tasks of
s achievement Diaries is logged in the
s achievement diary tab and clicking or
s tapping on one of these Diaries will
s show you a full list of tasks to
s complete a number of minigames can be
s found through our old school ranging
s from places to meet up with and fight
s other players to unique training methods
s for various skills the minigames tab
s found within the quest tab includes a
s full list of minigames in old school on
s top of this you can get a free teleport
s to a number of these minigames every
s half an hour and finally the current
s favor tab found within the quests tab
s tracks your progress when winning the
s favor of the five houses of current a
s city found on the continent of Zeya on
s the far west of the map moving on let's
s take a look at your inventory the
s inventory tab is perhaps the most
s important tab as it's the one you're
s going to find yourself using constantly
s simply put your inventory contains the
s items your character is holding and it's
s also where you interact with them
s whether you are attempting to wield the
s weapon eat food to heal or combining
s ingredients to create a potion all of
s that is done in your inventory your
s inventory has 28 slots this means that
s you can hold 28 items or 28 stacks of
s items moving on let's take a look at the
s equipment tab this tab displays the
s equipment which you are currently
s wearing beyond this you can also use a
s button at the bottom to open the
s equipment stats interface this displays
s the specific bonuses of all of the
s equipment which you are wearing the tab
s can also be used to access the guide
s price interface this allows you to look
s up the price of items in your inventory
s and even search through all tradable
s items to find out how much they are
s currently selling for the final
s interface accessed through the equipment
s tab is the items kept on death screen
s this window shows you which of your
s items you will keep if you die and which
s you will lose now let's take a look at
s the prayer tab in old school runescape
s prayers offer temporary boosts to combat
s stats as well as a few other utilities
s enabling prayers will slowly drain your
s prayer points and once your prayer
s points reach zero you must go and
s recharge them at an altar the prayer tab
s is where you can find the details of
s each prayer and where they can be
s enabled or disabled the spell book tab
s contains a list of spouse which can be
s cast using the magic skill the tab
s includes brief descriptions of each
s spell as well as the magic level runes
s and items required to catch them if you
s have the required runes items and level
s to cast
s spell you can do so by clicking or
s tapping it in the spell book the spell
s book on mobile differs quite
s significantly from the spell book on the
s desktop client the mobile spell book
s allows you to filter out certain spells
s and enlarges the ones which remain this
s makes tapping on the correct spell a
s much easier task you can filter out the
s different spells by their type so combat
s teleport or utility or based on the
s runes you are currently holding or the
s level required to cast the spell there
s is also a dedicated info button tap this
s button and then tap on a spell to see
s the required runes and a brief
s description next we have the friends
s list your friends list is a collection
s of people you want to keep in touch with
s you can add players to your friends list
s in the Frances tab you will be notified
s when people on this list log in and
s you'll also be able to message them
s directly
s you also have an ignore list which can
s be accessed in the top right of this tab
s adding a player to your ignore list will
s prevent you from seeing their messages
s in chat moving on we have the account
s management tab this tab provides you
s with court information about your
s account such as days remaining of
s membership and inbox messages it also
s provides you with quick access to some
s useful links
s next up the clan chat tab clan chats are
s a chat room where you can talk with a
s group of players who can be located
s anywhere in game on any world you can
s join clan chats through the clan chat
s tab and you can also set up your own
s clan chat moving on let's look at the
s settings tab the Settings tab contains
s you guessed it the general settings for
s old-school they are split into four
s general categories this includes display
s settings such as camera zoom brightness
s and a few other basic options sound
s options for music sound effects and area
s sounds chat options including enabling
s or disabling chat effects the profanity
s filter and more and finally control
s options this includes several settings
s which might affect how you interact with
s the game the available settings on
s mobile and desktop can vary quite a bit
s desktop users have the ability to choose
s between fixed mode and resizable mode
s resizable mode causes the game to filled
s the entire window whereas fixed mode
s remains a set size and only has one
s option for the interface next we have
s the amok tab if you want to convey a
s message to someone in game but words
s just don't quite cut it
s the emot-- tab might come in handy here
s you can find a number of basic and fun
s emotes to have your character perform
s the music tab tells you what music is
s currently playing in game as well as
s allowing you to choose a song which you
s would like to play as tracks are
s unlocked as you explore the world the
s music
s tab also displays which tracks you have
s and have-not unlocked and the final tab
s the logout tab the logout tab has one
s very useful function the in-game world
s switcher this lets you hop from world to
s world without having to re-enter your
s login information the logout tab also
s has one terrible useless function the
s logout button arguably the worst feature
s in all of old-school essentially it's a
s feature for pathetic quitters and it
s should never be used anyway that just
s about covers all of the different tabs
s in the old skool interface to top off
s the video let's take a look at a few of
s the most important interfaces you might
s encounter in game first up the world map
s the world map is pretty intuitive and
s you should be able to use it without an
s introduction but there are definitely a
s few features worth pointing out the
s world map is open using the globe icon
s found beneath the mini-map left clicking
s or tapping will open the map in a pop-up
s interface and a full screen option is
s available by right-clicking or long
s pressing the button in the bottom left
s of the map opens up the key clicking or
s tapping on any of the items in the key
s will highlight it across the map just
s beneath the key there are a few options
s to toggle some of the additional
s features of the map the you are hey
s marker shows where you are currently
s stood an interim app links show how
s different parts of dungeons are
s connected the search box is very useful
s for learning where things are let's say
s you're watching a quest guide and it
s tells you to go to you nail well pop
s your nail into the search box and hit
s enter the map will quickly move straight
s over you can zoom in and out of the map
s using the buttons found in the bottom
s right of the interface next let's take a
s quick look to the bank interface your
s bank is where you store items that you
s don't currently need you can arrange the
s items in your bank however you would
s like and create different tabs with each
s to create a tab simply drag one of the
s items in your bank onto the little plus
s icon at the top of the window along the
s bottom of the Bank interface you have
s several options the rearrange mode
s determines how items move when you
s reorder them in your bank the swap
s option will directly switch to items in
s the bank
s whereas insert will insert the move to
s item in between the others which are
s already there the withdraw as option
s unless you decide whether items are
s withdrawn as the raw items themselves or
s as banknotes banknotes are a stackable
s version of an item allowing you to carry
s a large number of a given item in a
s single inventory slot the quantity
s option lets you decide how many items
s are withdrawn when you left click or tap
s and
s in your bank the padlock icon enables
s always set placeholders placeholders are
s phantom items in your bank which
s reserved a given slot to a particular
s item these are very useful for keeping
s your bank organized the always set
s placeholders option means that whenever
s you withdraw the last of an item from
s your bank a placeholder will be set
s reserving the spot for that item in the
s future the search button lets you
s quickly search all of the items in your
s bank and the two final buttons in the
s bottom right allow you to deposit all of
s the items in your inventory at once or
s all of the items you have equipped
s remember talk to any banker in-game to
s set yourself up with a bank pin a bank
s pin acts as a last line of defense
s against anyone who gains access to your
s account being able to get your items so
s make sure you set one up as soon as
s possible now let's take a brief look at
s trading with other players both directly
s and via the grant exchange trading with
s other players is about as simple as it
s gets there is an accept button and a
s decline button as you and the player you
s are trading add items to the offer
s screen that appear on either side
s alongside a valuation based on the
s current grand exchange price of the
s items after you both accept you'll see a
s confirmation screen always use their
s screen to double-check the content of a
s trade before accepting trading directly
s with other players is not always the
s best way to trade and that is where the
s grand exchange comes in the grand
s exchange allows you to place offers to
s buy or sell items which can be fulfilled
s by any player on any world when you open
s up the grand exchange interface you can
s choose to place either a buy or a sell
s offer when placing a buy offer you will
s need to search for the item you would
s like to buy when placing a sell offer
s you'll need to select the item from your
s inventory all you need to do is choose
s the quantity of the item you would like
s to trade and the price you would like to
s pay or receive after that press confirm
s and just wait for the trade to complete
s as other players create buy or sell
s offers which are compatible with yours
s the trade will complete and you can
s collect your items or coins and that is
s where we're going to finish off this
s video remember old school runescape is
s now available on mobile check out the
