210s | finales because we don't need to spend a |
213s | lot of graphics time remake remapping |

217s | needed 128 separate arenas for the first |
220s | round of it mod West has done a pretty |
222s | elaborate job and it looks to me like |
225s | he's taking some ideas from what he did |
227s | for PvP all-stars to make rather more |
231s | epic finale arena than we've had before |
232s | he's looked so women changed the design |
235s | a bit well um |
237s | previously we had the finale would take |
239s | place in a walled arena with you know a |
242s | fairly high walls he's got a new design |
246s | now that will hopefully give four other |
247s | better views I look forward to seeing |
250s | what you think of it and like I say it's |
254s | not like playing dead man you hit you'll |
257s | be doing it to test the thing to check |

261s | that's changed we're not trying to test |

361s | thick and it's like sulfurous and a bit |
363s | chunky well we've certainly come a long |
366s | way in the graphics budget from the |
367s | sulfur clouds of the soul for my yeah |
369s | those I'm not they're not recolored |
373s | those are just vampires we kill one of |
378s | the vampires it turns into a cloud of |
379s | dust and goes away to rejuvenate |
382s | I didn't even repaint it those are |
384s | that's what you've got in the sofa the |
386s | color was already perfect for what work |
391s | well yeah we with Ghost and Alfie having |
395s | so much to do for the actual terrain we |
398s | had to kind of make do with what we've |

399s | this is definitely coming a very long |
402s | way for further on the mat course so |
406s | safe to say this is one of the first |
407s | things you've been working on since |
409s | joining us well yeah the first thing |
412s | Monday and have you found it so far yeah |
415s | I'm really enjoying it yeah the |
416s | optimization process was pretty crazy |

422s | enjoying it yeah new tools tools have |

439s | we were limited by what we could do in |
440s | 2013 by the lack of dev tools having got |
443s | that 2007 s always recreated for us |
445s | we've now got the problem that they are |
447s | 2007 tools and that's what they were |
450s | like sorry yes I think I've taught them |

458s | same way yes 20 2016 now how time flies |

469s | besides the permadeath beta and we'd |

481s | long-awaited collection log what this |
484s | will do is as you go through you kill |
487s | bosses and such essentially it'll track |
490s | what you get as drops and there are a |
493s | few small caveats with it which we have |
496s | explained before but I'll happily |
497s | explain again anything that is tradable |
502s | even if you own it even if you're an |
505s | Ironman it will not be displayed in the |
509s | system the reasons for that being that |
511s | if we were to do that kind of thing we |
516s | would be extending the whole project by |
518s | six months to a year - in order to |
521s | accommodate all of that kind of stuff |
523s | so unfortunately Ironman will have to |
526s | get the items again if they want to |
528s | complete the collection log but again |
531s | that's only for the |
533s | tradeable versions also you'll see there |
537s | is all the untradable items like |
538s | minigames pets you can see on the screen |
541s | now the metamorphic dust if you've got |
546s | them or if you've used them so if you've |
547s | got they on trans mobs and whatever they |
549s | will automatically be filled in because |
551s | they cannot be traded with other players |
554s | yeah he got the back to their bosses |
557s | thing everything's on there there's a |
560s | few gems that I thought was maybe a |
563s | little bit mean but I put them in anyway |
565s | and also some things that I kind of like |
567s | to highlight some of the content the is |
571s | less used in the game known cooking is |
574s | on there for one good trying to get the |
577s | min cake the seed pod to the scarf and |
579s | the glasses the evil chicken outfit |
584s | which you acquire from sacrificing God |
587s | eggs in the wood cut and killed is there |
589s | as well which is fun while and then |
592s | we've got things like czars because |
594s | they've got a decent unique table |
598s | revenants general Slayer stuff so things |
602s | you get from superior's like the dust |
604s | and mist staffs etc there's probably |
607s | about 1100 items on this list yeah that |
612s | we've rather a lot of things if Lenny |
613s | were meant to be tracking all of the |
615s | ones that iron people already owned I |
617s | think he well I'm not sure what the |
620s | server would do if he tried that much |
621s | code on it or yeah I don't know there's |
625s | something else I wanted to say but an |
626s | outcome over I'll probably remember in |
628s | two minutes about the quantities of them |
629s | because the PS if I didn't okay so some |
632s | items will have a quantity capped at one |
634s | such as things like the castle walls |
637s | armors void and that's because generally |
641s | you can sell those back for reduced |
643s | costs and then buy the next one |
646s | therefore we capped it that way things |
648s | like trouble brewing you can buy as like |
650s | you'll go up to 255 because you can't |
653s | trade them back in and 255 is the |
655s | general limit anything that's considered |
657s | stackable like vials of blood scales etc |
659s | goes up to 65535 so |
665s | and there's definitely a lot to do in |
667s | there well thank you very much more rock |
671s | something has just occurred to me which |
673s | I don't think we have discussed yet is |
674s | have you got any plans for rewards for |
677s | players you've managed to somehow |
678s | complete the whole thing I will be very |
681s | surprised if someone completes the whole |

684s | gilded and every piece of Third Age |

708s | a bit of a touchy one but I think it's |

746s | like does not impact sort of well the |
751s | polls essentially we don't close them |
753s | early or close them late to try and make |
754s | a change happen the repoing was never |
756s | intended to make that happen it's not |
758s | like we've got the secrets shrunken icon |
762s | Illuminati paying those extra if we can |
764s | even small some players may seem to |
767s | think we have this special agenda on it |
770s | that said the players who objected to |
773s | the size change before because of the |
775s | skill gap in PvP their point was quite |
778s | legitimate yes my understanding is the |
782s | way we've left it at the minute |
784s | broken to looking at workarounds for |
787s | that as and when it's appropriate |
789s | because obviously the way went this time |
792s | wasn't ideal and |
794s | uncomfortable with us committing to that |
795s | one being on the next all of you would |
797s | like to it's not the thing we talked |
801s | about where it resizes but not in PvP |
804s | zones hmm is something I'm very happy to |
807s | work on sooner rather than later yes |
809s | well for me I seems like quite a |
810s | reasonable um fix quite quite fix for it |
814s | it's a compromise it does not deliver |
816s | everything that some people would like |
818s | and we regret that but it also hopefully |
820s | preserves something that's very |
822s | important to a lot of other people okay |

834s | fire of unseasonal warmth s-- affect the |
837s | one from making friends with my arm be |
839s | expanded to the ice path requiring |

848s | would also make it the best area because |
850s | I had a look in there and it's really |
852s | open it's got quite a lot of trolls in |

885s | cannot but cannons there etc we could |

894s | into the players would tell them exactly |
895s | what we'd do with the area remember to |
897s | change it cool so sort of maybe yes see |

928s | of the low-level Slayer masters be a |
929s | secret ham member or sympathizer I quite |

948s | chosen commander and some content beyond |
951s | that we could have land of the goblins |

1084s | it's a little inconsistent with her |
1086s | personality has revealed in the quests |
1087s | so far but maybe when she gets put in |
1089s | the box her head could get squished or |
1091s | something then she becomes a flat-headed |
1093s | goblin with some different ideas this is |
1098s | entirely serious escape content design |
1101s | live well it's up there with the |
1104s | conversation about how we the world just |
1106s | had a big bear space so we put a big |
1107s | bear in the big space we've never really |
1113s | contradicted rs.3 in any significant |
1117s | details so far even where edy worked on |
1121s | taste of freedom it tells a different |
1125s | story to what you got in legacy of |
1127s | series but it's the same shape the same |

1314s | would if he wanted to you just tell him |
1316s | there's a boss in it well it did cross |
1319s | book at one point the idea for making |
1321s | friends of my arm is that I'd write the |
1323s | quest and he'd write the boss |
1324s | then he had a different project to work |
1326s | on so i wrote the boss but I didn't want |
1329s | a very hard one anyway so so one of |
1332s | Karen's penalties might have been a bit |
1334s | overkill um anywho we do like writing |
1339s | stories and I also know what the slug |
1341s | Menace developer had in mind for that |
1342s | storyline because he told me before we |
1345s | fired him so we can go there possibly |
1349s | not with the gratuitous torture |
1350s | cutscenes that he worked because that I |
1354s | I didn't see it myself but some pen |
1358s | stirred from Paul Gower that he'd got a |
1362s | cutscene of somebody strapped to a board |
1365s | in the temple Knights dungeons with a |
1368s | burly temple not just and as the camera |
1374s | pans away and the players left to wonder |
1375s | whether they've actually been helping |
1377s | the good guys on this yeah it was meant |
1382s | to be an invitation to consider just |
1385s | what they're doing in the services |
1387s | saradomin whether saradomin would |
1388s | approve and what it says about saradomin |
1391s | if he did runescape isn't that kind of |
1393s | fantasy game no content we've got that |
1402s | torturing the known thing in the morning |

1449s | players first ninety nine cape untrimmed |

1453s | players who have already trimmed their |
1455s | first 99 cape I would think this would |

1459s | players and alts a way to celebrate |
1461s | their accomplishments I mean they |
1463s | already can just moderate it can't be |
1465s | done right there's my understanding |
1468s | yeah there is though there is a really |
1470s | awkward way of way it's not really that |
1471s | awkward it just requires you to have |
1472s | certain stats and know what you're doing |
1474s | but I don't like the fact that we're to |
1478s | get essentially be giving new people |
1479s | this way of showing something off but |
1482s | then everyone else that happened to come |
1484s | before them to help shape the game that |
1486s | they're now playing eccentric cetera |
1488s | maybe it's just giving them a middle |
1490s | finger and going now we've got something |
1491s | that you don't and it's like separating |
1494s | the community for no reason that's a lot |
1497s | of people who'd be excluded from it if |
1499s | we're excluding you all current |
1501s | customers with 99s that's a lot of |
1504s | people I'm sorry to exclude them from a |
1506s | feature that's meant to be about |
1508s | celebrating their ninety nine there's a |
1510s | lot of strong knows in this hat I mean |
1512s | there's a few on the count just I was |
1514s | thinking about I was thinking about the |
1516s | untrimmed caves mmm and I was thinking |
1519s | what if all of the skill masters where |
1523s | you buy the cape from if after you have |
1525s | your second day then I have the option |
1527s | to sell the untrimmed version in |
1529s | addition so that you can't have it that |
1531s | means everyone will be able to have |
1533s | every version of an untrimmed cape don't |
1535s | they've owned the 99 yeah but therefore |
1537s | they're not showing off the fact that it |
1539s | was their first one that they managed to |
1540s | keep it which i think is the whole main |
1541s | point of sure yeah okay although I mean |
1543s | we just give a toggle for the trim like |
1546s | we did to the achievement one yeah right |
1548s | that makes sense to me right so we have |

1613s | people to go oh I like the old design |

2182s | reasons people tend to come in for |
2183s | Christmas so plenums go up and in old |

2189s | numbers kept going up between Christmas |
2192s | and launch of our new update because |
2195s | people had something to stick around for |
2196s | our s3 at the same time I mean they've |
2200s | got some great content coming but it |
2201s | wasn't coming in early January |
2203s | their numbers peaked at Christmas and |
2206s | they went but and start to come back |
2207s | down again because there wasn't |
2208s | something to encourage people to stick |
2210s | around for the difference that makes is |
2213s | considerable a different shot no thank |
2216s | you and so it is disproportionate to the |
2223s | amount of time spent on the content just |
2225s | doing it at the right time and making it |
2227s | something that is appealing I hate to |
2231s | say that we need to do things that sound |
2236s | exciting rather than just grinding |
2240s | through the backlog because some of |
2242s | those mundane things are worth having |
2244s | but the effect for us as a business is |
2249s | very very strong compared to the |
2253s | Meredeth time spent on it |
2255s | so those three points in the year |
2258s | they're not just chosen because we |
2260s | thought three was a good number three is |
2262s | a good number especially we're 70 before |
2263s | it but we it's really quite important at |
2268s | the moment and I'm afraid we're not so |
2271s | easy to be able to move away from caring |
2272s | about that stuff but with more staff |
2275s | around I do hope we'll be able to get |
2277s | through more the backlog especially um |
2279s | all the interface work that some our |
2283s | former colleagues then me and aired and |
2286s | Mars and West were working on for mobile |
2292s | that's at least trickling to an end |
2293s | there's a lot of fixes still to do for |
2296s | mobile but that's been occupying a huge |
2298s | amount of time from the team for well |
2300s | over a year with that freeing up we've |
2305s | been able to get a bit more of gameplay |

2314s | been saying that we've also got the well |

2346s | live ops could be if actually doing qual |

2355s | been possible and in the absence of a |
2358s | group that has focused on PvP we've been |
2360s | having to work on that sort of thing |
