OK have confirmed this is an issue. The data the developers got sent did not take into account any person(s) removed after our Anti-Cheating team has done their checks. We cannot hotfix this unfortunately but it will be updated next week. Sorry for the error and thank you for bringing this up

Keep an eye out for Poll Blog v2 (handful of small tweaks and some responses to community feedback) later today, then polling. We should be seeing them soon-ish, just keen to have them in as good a spot as possible before the rework goes live!

thanks for the correction

Both of these changes should be out I have just checked with the team. The only remaining item from Poll 76 is Poison Dynamite, which has had a beta and it's in the final stages of tweaking.

The Poll 77 blog is being written at the moment. I don't have an ETA on it but we'll get it out to you as soon as we can. In general, our Poll Blogs have been relatively slow for players, so we've been making some changes internally to how we work. We'd like to have shorter times between Poll Blogs and more explanation should be in the Poll 77 blog about how we plan to do that. Hope this helps!

Hi! Being persistent with constructive feedback is good don't worry! Sometimes we can't always respond to your original comment so following up is always helpful. I have given this feedback directly to our team working on the enhanced client and they are open to making a change here, but they can't say much in the way of when we'd get it out, yet. So, no ETA because it needs to be prioritised amongst other work, but we'll look to spin up a ticket for it and we acknowledge there is an issue.

Out of interest, do you have any specific issues with the rewards you're planning to vote 'No' to? Always keen for feedback!

I don't want to be "that guy", but is there any news about when the mobile client will be fixed? As of currently, instanced areas make the game a slideshow. The only way to fix it is to disable all the different timers and such (which essentially renders it to a vanilla client).

And no, it's not just me, dear person who will try to comment this. It's a widespread issue.

Our mobile team would be interested in further information about this. I don't doubt that you're not the only player experiencing this but the difficulty is that there might be multiple reasons for this happening for which we can't determine what is the cause. It could be your device, the location of the game you are in or something else. If you can attach any information that can help us determine the cause, I can pass it on. This is the first time I've heard about disabling timers to fix the issue though so that might be worth following up.

Wasn’t the damage mitigation a bug? Why revert the change? Also why isn’t the baba cheese method considered big abuse or the insanity skull skip or zebak wave skip? It is kind of sad seeing most high level invocations only being done by bug abuse

Hey, I believe this part is in reference to this thread player thread, which raised to us that previous mechanics got borked unintentionally with no patch notes after last week. This was unintentional and corrected today. Does this help?

Its not. At this point you should thank your lucky stars there's a huge pvm community to vote no on all your updates. There would be no osrs without pvmers, the same cannot be said for pvp. There are like 74 pkers left in the game

There would be no osrs without pvmers

On this point specifically, I think it's worth the historical context of the PvP community actually being pretty instrumental in OSRS coming to fruition in the first place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqYjIjDAdM8. Pretty sure if you look back at data streams from 2013/2014 the numbers of players actively PvPing on the daily were in regions north of 30-40%.

For sure times change and so do player attitudes, but also think it's important to remember that there was a time Ironman didn't exist, and a time where PvM as an endgame was pretty limited - a whole bunch of areas of the game got some love and now absolutely flourish.

I'm not much of a PvPer myself, I dabble but in all honesty I suck pretty hard. I do think though that it's a little disheartening sometimes to see such huge swathes of the community actively root for the downfall of other parts. With a little love and care, there's potential to bring thousands on thousands of players back to Old School and keep growing the game, which benefits everybody who plays.

The constant framing of 'us vs. them' (from both sides, in fairness) is saddening, growing the game and appealing to people who enjoy all types of content is important in fleshing out the game and maintaining a huge diversity of types of content for players to engage with.

I hope one day we might be in a spot where you'd reconsider your stance, but there's work to be done to get to that spot.

If it’s anything to do with the wilderness I don’t even read it if I am being completely honest. I just vote no because I’d rather save developer time for actually useful content. Even if I liked what I saw and voted yes 1000 others would vote no because that’s how it is. We don’t pay for PvP updates we pay for what we enjoy most and that’s like everyone I know. It will always fail.

Think it's worth pointing out that most of the rewards polled are PvM rewards (i.e. Revenant weapon upgrades). Appreciate you responding, I worked pretty hard writing up the Design Blog and it would be neat if you found the time to have a read over it at some point!

A good chunk of people do pay for PvP updates (since it's what they enjoy most) and it'd be helpful to have feedback from people inclined to voting no so that we're able to find grounds to properly support multiple types of players, rather than homogenising content.

The reality is it's not 2014 anymore. The PVP community created a bad reputation for itself and subsequently died out. What are the current percentages for players who actively PK? Seriously what's the number?

The 'us vs them' mentality comes from PVMers waiting 4 years for a new PVM experience that isnt reskinned existing content or rs3 port. All the while watching every PVP update and DMM crash, burn, and get exploited for hundreds of bills which ruins the game's economy. Voting against PVP updates actually benefits PVMers in a tangible way; and Jagex created this dynamic.

I'm obviously not blaming you individually and I appreciate your response. However; trying to force PVP on a community that is and will always be supermajority PVMers is the definition of beating a dead horse. I think I speak for the majority of PVMers when I say that there is literally nothing Jagex can do to get me interested in PVP; and if upcoming PVM updates are forced into PVP areas, there will be massive backlash possibly resulting in a death sentence for the game as a whole

Appreciate your response!

I'm not sure I'm able to share the current %s, but I'd wager it's propbably higher than you'd expect.

I'm not particularly interested in 'trying to force PvP' on anybody, and think some of the changes like alternative sources for the D Pick go some way to 'decoupling' risky content with a potential for PvP from what many feel to be core progression. I'm more interested in trying to provide content for those who would and do choose to PvP or engage in risky content that's worth their time, which many feel is a mark that's been missed for quite a while now.

I never used to be interested in PvP at all either, Bounty Hunter got me pretty good though and I enjoyed playing the same game I know and love in a totally different way. I think ultimately the goal is to remove the word 'forced' from any of these discussions and have PvP or PvP-adjacent content feel like a choice worth making for players who are so-inclined, and add to the breadth of content the game offers so that people feel there might be an incentive for them to try something a little bit different!

Appreciate where you're coming from in any case and thanks for taking the time to reply.

I know you can visit as a guest, but joining a clan/chat just to unlock one track is kinda annoying

You shouldn't have to join a clan chat to visit somebody's Clan Hall as a guest! Just need to know which world and which clan. Feels a good bit easier than some of the other requirements for the Music Cape.

What is this referencing lol?

As far as I know, a single player (potentially for the first time since the quest's release) managed to wind up in a quest state we've never seen before, where the game thought they were a Phoenix Gang member (despite being a Black Arm Gang member) and therefore wasn't able to complete Heroes' Quest. We have no idea how they wound up in this state and whether or not it's happened before, but hopefully it shouldn't happen again...

I appreciate the PvP community are also customers who want to enjoy the game like the rest of us but unfortunately for them they are and will always be vastly outnumbered at the polls. I know voting “No” without good reason is not what was intended for the polling system but that’s the way people do it when it comes to PvP I can tell you that for free.

I just asked the team thanks for your patience as I look into this. It's a long standing bug. If we could make a list of all the NPCs people think it affects we could try and go through them. This is mostly an engine issue that we have to do to fix it, which we are waiting on, and we're basically just bandaid fixing them one by one rather annoyingly. So if you have the NPC's name we can apply a fix

From my understanding the "chat bug" is a very well known and very common issue with mobile players, and is likely the single biggest issue currently effecting the mobile client. I was under the impression that this was already known and was in the process of being fixed, if I recall it was mentioned in another blog, but I could be wrong. If you can offer clarification, I, and likely many others, would appreciate it as its been going on for months at this point with no solution in sight, and now the possibility that it isn't even known to the people who can actually fix it, its just quite disheartening honestly.

Id say for me about 85% of the time having any of the chat boxes open (game, public, private etc.) generally cause 2 things to happen. First, it will glitch up when you are in the position of having to enter a number or word, for example "remove X amount if item" or "set value of item" on the ge, clue scroll steps that require typed answers etc. By "glitch up" I mean that the entire interface gets completey screwed up, where you get either a completey blank box, or the chat that would be behind the box you are trying to type in "bleeds through" so to speak but in both cases you arent actually able to type anything at all. Second, leaving any of the chats open causes consistent, and massive lag and insane frame rate drops.

Again, this doesn't happen 100% of the time, but when it does its extremely frustrating, especially in situations where keeping the "game" log open is preferred (to see drops, kc, pb's, etc.). Its basically a no-go often enough that it isnt something I'd think most players can just casually ignore, especially ones doing any sort of later mid- end game content.

Hopefully this gets read and a solution will come about. Regardless and in any case I genuinely appreciate the time you take to engage with the community, you obviously work hard to communicate with all the different departments and it shows. Im not sure what the appropriate channel would be, but im happy to send screenshots of the issue if that would be helpful. Thanks again and much appreciated!

Thanks for the detail. I really appreciate it. It looks like a pretty complex issue especially as it's been known for quite some time. I've brought it up again today to let the team know that it is still an issue and effecting sentiment/enjoyment of the App. I can't promise a fix anytime soon, but this issue, along with freezes/crashes are the two biggest issues I've seen, which should get priority over other small fixes if we can determine the cause.

Thank you both. It seems the issue with the helper interface being 'cut off' has been raised last week so we are aware. I can confirm a ticket has been created for it which means it will get round to being fixed at some point. I don't know yet when the fix will go out.
Fixes for mobile/steam go out when we apply engine updates. Updates to our engine are less frequent than our game updates, generally every 6-8 weeks. That might be why fixing bugs on mobile and steam feels a little slower for players.
