Overall good changes, but:
In addition, shamans will no longer spawn thralls if they are poisoned or envenomed, giving everyone a bit of a break.
Does this mean that Shamans will start firing mage attacks when poisoned rather than summoning? Or do they just completely stop doing anything?
Correct, they will start swapping to magic. Poisoned shamans now no longer spawn thralls, this means that they're now vulnerable to poison which means that players can tag them and forget about them, which should help them control the flow of the room.
when can we see the next batch of poll 80?
Hey! We're looking to launch the majority of them in the upcoming weekly updates. It's important to mention that the scrum team responsible for QoL polls is also responsible for designing the Chambers of Xeric updates that we mentioned on the Summer Summit. So at some point their focus may shift onto that. Hope this helps! Was there any change in particular you were keen on seeing released ASAP?
Why is it so silent about the new mobile UI Beta? I was really looking forward to this.
Unfortunately, I don't have any updates since the one we shared here (https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/desert-treasure-ii-changes--more-?oldschool=1)
I've just asked the CM managing that project - it's currently still blocked by technical dependencies. I know from speaking to the people working on that project that they're just as bummed out about it as you guys are, hopefully it gets sorted soon so that we can hear your feedback on it.
I was told there would be a fix to PvP arena not giving rewards this week but don’t seem to see it on the notes. Any update on this?
I've just chased this up, thanks for pointing it out. Turns out, a hotfix was deployed last week which should have fixed the issue & given restrospective points back to people waiting on them. Could you let me know if you're still experiencing issues with Emir's Arena and I will escalate? Thanks again for pointing it out!
Hey Light do you know when we will be hearing more about blood rune and scythe changes. I believe Sween said during the summer summit that they were being looked at.
Blood rune topic - pretty soon. The blog is just being checked by the team for final feedback, so then depending on whether it goes to editorial could be out in a couple days or less. I'm not currently aware of any particular scythe changes, I have seen this pop up a lot within the community though. Probably one for Kieren as it seems like a much bigger topic
Great changes this week!
In the summer summit it was mentioned a potential proposal to blood runes, anything that can be shared regarding that or potential changes to Scythe charges?
You'll hear more about Blood rune stuff pretty soon I think, there is a blog scheduled to go out soon but it's going through final feedback with the team. In terms of the Scythe I am not aware of any conversations about it currently. It's a much bigger topic, perhaps one for Kieren as associate design director, to comment on.
Were the drop rates adjusted for the scepter to account for it rolling on creature spawns, or is this a bigger buff then I expected
So the rates are as follows for both chest and sarcophagi:
Room 1: 1/4200
Room 2: 1/2800
Room 3: 1/1600
Room 4: 1/950
Room 5: 1/800
Room 6: 1/750
Room 7: 1/650
Room 8: 1/650
Theoretically its worse on early floors, better on late floors.Additionally a small additional buff on also being able to roll the item even if an NPC spawns.
We're adding this info onto the newspost as well so everyone can see :)
Was really hoping the revenant hard diary tele update would be included in this :( I was so excited then so disappointed in less than a minute
Hey! I've asked the team about this. The Hard Diary tele update (and any update that would have a significant impact on PvP) is likely being held until after DMM concludes. The reason behind it is that it might have a significant effect on deadman and in the spirit of competitions, we want to avoid making major changes throughout the competition. In theory, we could launch it sooner and specifically code it to not affect Deadman, but that would require additional development time to revert the code back to normal, essentially duplicating work. So for the sake of 2-3 weeks it didn't seem viable. We will try our best to get this out to you as soon as we can.
Hey mod light! Thanks for the updates
When are we going to be receiving the updates for the wilderness boss rooms and Callisto chip damage? Just a rough estimate please
Hey! I've asked the team about this and it's a very similar situation to what's happening here. I'll be sure to let the team know that these are high priority changes for you, but unfortunately they won't be launching during DMM.
It's still tough to understand when you say "additionally... ". Are these rates taking into account the additional buff from npc spawns?
Btw, thanks for engaging with the community.
The rates are the base regardless.
The roll will happen regardless of if an NPC spawns or not.
Previously if an NPC spawned you would not be able to get a sceptre.
Would you be able to foward it to Kieren? We haven't heard him say anything about it and it's clearly something a lot of people in community want, the scythe is a huge pain right now.
I will ensure it’s raised. I don’t imagine stuff like this gets resolved quickly, as it may be that longer term solutions are preferred, but it will be brought up and discussed. Thank you for making us aware
